Reviews and guidebooks warned us about "communist-era" hotels in Slovenia and Croatia, but this was the only one, even on our limited budget, that really seemed to have survived intact from 1967. We spend one night (only one, unfortunately) in this hotel, making a pause on our trip. I love this hotel, their comfortable beds, spacious rooms and bathrooms. Also, I was pleasantly surprised with a wonderful buffet breakfast. I will stay there again, if I come to Koper :)

Koper has little to offer in hotels and we found the Vodisek to be very friendly and, surprisingly, comfortable. The hotel buildings is a but run down and the hallways are poorly lit. Avoid this "hotel" at all times. I don't know who gave them three stars but the place is hardly worth of one. It looks terrible outside, the bar/restaurant is unbelievably small and ugly, the rooms are like hostel rooms. The bathroom was the only good thing about this "hotel". I have stayed here twice. It was very clean. The rooms are nice and have been updated. I stayed for 2weeks. I was given a refrigerator to use within half an hour of inquiring. I stopped in Koper on my way to Croatia.MY stay at this hotel was nice: clean, good location,and friendly people.It is not a place to stay if you want to spend a lot of time at the hotel because it is a small budget hotel, but you can walk less than 5 minutes and be in the town center.
