What on earth is wrong with a dirt road in Bali? Go and stay in a large western city if you want bitumen and made roads. A visit to Bali and other Asian destinations is about the people, THEIR culture and way of life, not yours. If this sort of thing offends you, stay at home.

We visit Bali several times/year for the last 5 years. The hotel driveway is a jumble of dirt potholes from the main road in Candidasa. It requires a 4 wheel drive ( we had one).
