My group travelled to Stellenbosch for business, 04-08 March 2013. We were referred to Batavia because the hotel that our team stayed in previously was booked on our requested dates. Suzaan and Hanco were amazingly prompt on their responses to our request and made booking the hotel accommodations so easy. We were delighted with our stay. Batavia is a beautiful... More

We stayed at Batavia for 2 nights as we toured S Africa and it was a very good choice. It is not 5 star luxury but is not priced like that, it is a nicely decorated guest-house with an authentic Cape Dutch theme, which is in tune with the key style running throughout Stellenbosch. The guest house is just off... More

We stayed at the Batavia for 4 nights. We arrived early but our room was ready within 10 minutes, during which time we were served coffee and cakes and given local information. It is excellently located with easy access to many local restaurants. For breakfast there was choice of fruit juices, cereals, croissants, toast and preserves, ham, cheese, along with... More

We stayed at the Batavia for 4 nights including new year's eve. We arrived literally straight off the plane from Heathrow to be greeted by Suzaan who showed us to room 6 and provided us with pot of tea. From then on we were made at home. The room was well appointed with a large bed, fridge, wifi, seating area... More

Another excellent stay (our fourth) in Batavia. Thank you to Suzaan and Hancock for all they did for us. An excellently run establishment in the centre of Stellenbosch. We are booked in for 2014! Rosaleen and James

The room was advertised as a double luxuary room, only to informed that it was a twin bedroom upon arrival. This made for very uncomfortable sleeping. The rooms do not provide privacy as the walls are too thin and thus we could hear the neighbours talk and their TV playing. The breakfast left much to be desired, with a very... More

Central to walk to restaurants and close enough to walk to the start of the Winelands Marathon. Comfortable bed and beautifully furnished room. Pool area is a bit of a squash. No view from the room - just a view of a wall but with a little patio area. Very welcoming at reception.

We stayed here for two nights to do a wine tour and wished we could have stayed longer. Beautiful boutique hotel with large rooms uniquely furnished. Lovely cooked breakfast and really helpful staff. Ideal location right in the centre of Stellenbosch with lots of good restaurants within a few minutes walk.

My wife and I spent 4 nights here and loved it - location is excellent and the hotel itself superb with high quality rooms and a fantastic breakfast as other reviews have mentioned. If I had to pick out something I would improve it would be the pool area which was more a plunge pool with little flexibility to follow... More
