This was our second stay at Hlangana Lodge and it was every bit as good as our first. The staff are welcoming, pleasant, helpful and charming. The rooms - we only booked "standard" ones - are beautifully equipped and very comfortable, complete with air-con. On arrival the lovely garden and pool are a most pleasing sight. We had had a... We stayed for 2 nights whilst on the garden route tour. It was set in relaxing sorroundings, the garden area was lovely to look out onto. It could do with some tlc especially in the bathrooms & decore could do with tweeking. Staff were excellant.. A real Gem & Chloe the cat made it home from home.

We enjoyed one night at Hlangana Lodge in a superior room. Rooms are clean and spacious. The bathrooms are really nice with a spa bath and seperate toilet. The property has really beautiful gardens, with white roses scattered all around the bushes. The pool is quite big and my son enjoyed all the space. Breakfast the next morning was nice,... More

We have stayed in the Hlangana Lodge before and enjoy the setting, with its pretty gardens and small pool. The rooms are fine, maybe a little dated but only in comparison to the extremely high quality of accommodation we stayed in elsewhere on our trip to the Cape. The staff are not very confident and, on our visit, there didn't... More

We believe we had the best room at the Lodge which was large and well furnished with a large comfortable sofa and small court yard to the back. It seemed to cater for tour companies with guests staying for one night. Small pool which was quite dirty and many guests just didn't want to swim. Unfortunately no evening meals, which... More

Very good welcome from reception. Beautiful grounds and a nice surprise when car was cleaned overnight. Good advice with regard to places to eat and tours. Rooms quite dated and in need of refurbishment.

This is a charming lodge style property in pretty gardens, just across the street from the much more expensive Rosenhof Country House. Rooms are rustic rather than luxurious, but comfortable. Our superior room had efficient aircon, and a large bathroom with dual basins and separate shower stall. There are no evening meals on site, but plenty of choices in town,... More

Compared to the other places we stayed in South Africa this is an extremely average hotel with very basic rooms- more like a motel than a hotel with lots of coach parties staying. Breakfast was limited and of poor quality. The helpful reception staff were the only thing that stood out as being good. Unless you need to go to... More

Dear Nomadannie, Thank you for your review. We understand that you msut have had a bad experience with a tour group staying the same night and that this might have disrupted your experience of Hlangana. I can assure you that we do not cater for coach tours, we only accommodate small exclusive tours (10 rooms max.guided groups), which is not... More

Staid here for only one night when driving on Garden Route. Staid here with my family with two small children, so we staid in a family room. The place ver well met my expectations from the web site and from information sent on my booking. This is a very cosy small hotel, not many rooms. The rooms are tidy and... More

After looking through the hotel options in Oudtshoorn, and realising the choice was quite limited, we went with Hlangana Lodge. Overall, we had a good time and it was a good base for exploring the Cango Caves, Swartberg Pass and the very close by Cango Wildlife Ranch. I would rate the actual hotel as average, mainly due to the room... More
