I stayed here at the end of a tour for 4 nights and found it fantastic value for money. Rooms are basic but very clean. It is situated close to sights and restaurants. I had a room facing the back which looked straight up onto Table Mountain so just had to open the blinds to see if the top of... More

Good central location, near to the Company Gardens, museums, art gallerys and various main drags. Good breakfast, clean simple rooms with TV (occasionally flaky), reasonably priced. Good security. Excellent staff - helpful, pleasant and efficient. Not if you need a bar or restaurant where you stay, but there are plenty of these within a few minutes walk. If all you... More

I ended up staying here one night in an emergency. The staff were helpful, but the rooms are very basic, you have to pay for rather average Wi-Fi, and there's no elevator! The one advantage was that they did have secure parking in the back with no extra charge. Breakfast the next day was fair, but I would not stay... More

I stayed for a week at this hotel. The room was clean and decent, although a bit basic. It does not have a restaurant, but this was not a problem as there were several restaurants in the neighbourhood around. It is located in a safe place, and I never felt threatened while walking back to the hotel after dark. The... More

I stayed here as part of a group tour and have to say it was quite a disappointing hotel. The rooms are shabby, as are the bathrooms. The plus points are: the breakfasts are great, the staff are very helpful, it's very secure and near local amenities. The other plus point is that it's quite cheap. The hotel is on... More

My stay at the Saasveled lodge, was rather comforting, convenient and budget conscious. Stayed at the saasveld for 3 months, received great welcoming and friendly service throughout my stay. Location was great for commuting , everything in close proximity to where ever you were needing to go. I had a good experience here. Rooms were cozy and comfortable. slept well... More

We stayed here for five nights with two teenage children, We arrived at night and first impressions were poor, with stained carpets in corridors and rooms, poor room lighting with no ambiance, functional fittings in bathroom, no atmosphere. Thought we would have to move hotels next day. However, in the morning all had slept well, plenty of hot water in... More

We must have stayed at a different hotel to many of the reviewers. We travelled as a family as part of a tour group and stayed in two connecting rooms (2nd floor) which brought me back to my college days. The rooms were extremely basic and and had the bare essentials (even had little study desks!) and were extremely weathered... More

Knowing the area and looking for a weekend special (after one hard first night at a Backpacker on Long Street) I was disappointed to pay 550 ZAR per night for something that I would grade to go for 350 ZAR (person/night). NO single rates, only room rates ... so not a good place for single travellers. Staff is OK, but... More
