An unplanned stop but a great one. I had never heard of it but the wife happened to mention penguins as we passed by - screeeech! u-turn! hello! We stayed at the Boulders Beach Lodge for one night during a car ride down the Cape. When we read that the lodge was just next to a colony of penguins, we had no idea how close we would really be!! As we pulled into the parking lot of the lodge we saw a little penguin standing in the lot... More

We just returned from travelling around the Cape and South Africa for our Honeymoon. We stayed two nights at the Boulders Beach Guest House. It was an average hotel A nice reception area and staff were helpful and friendly. However our room was a little disappointing. On arrival we had no electric lights and our key snapped in the door... We stayed in Boulders Beach Guest House, in Simons Town about a 45 min drive from Cape Town. It is a beautiful guest house, set on an amazing beach with hundreds of Jackass Penguins living on it.
