First of all I'm in my 40s and was traveling with a younger group of friends and stayed for a few days at the Penthouse on Long and therefore had very low expectations for a hostel in the heart of Cape Town on a street known for its nightlife. Staffs are friendly and location is good. But rooms are not clean.

The Hostel on Long was good but not my absolute fav. place to stay , sometimes it was very loud esp. when you wanted to find some rest but long street is great for party. You can walk everywhere and have a great time in Capetwon. Easy to go from airport. Dont forget to check out V&A Waterfront!!!!!!!!

Couldn't have been better. Twin ensuite with aircon (v rare but necessary), great people, amazing rooftop bar, quiet at night, comfortable, right on Long St so easy to find bars, restaurants, and all the things the guide books tell you to see and do. Would def stay again.
