This is the greatest hotel we have stayed in South Africa. From the moment you turn your Vehicle onto their driveway and approach the entrance you are escorted by friendly staff to do your registration. After registration you are taken on a tour to familirise you with all the facilities.Great room, extremely luxcurious.Reuben's Restaurant however dissapointing.

Right by the V&A in Cape Town this is a resort hotel within a city. When it is warm enough to swim (kids have a slightly different definition of this to me) it has a great pool. Service is normally really good. Slightly bizarre situation on one stay when husband got locked inside room one night and I was locked... More

We only stayed one night at The One and Only, but from the second we walked in we were treated like royalty, even in our ripped jeans&flip flops :) We had a double queen room on the island and it was huge. We took the kids to the kids club and went for a walk. When we came back the... More

I had amazing time in this hotel. It's next to marina so we had great choice of restaurants , Aquarium is next door and 1st stop of City Sightseeing Tour is 3 min walk. SPA is fabulous - I love ESPA and they use their products. Also my massage was excellent. I was amazed to find out that they built... More

Having stayed mostly at guest houses in Cape Town over the years, I wanted to try something different and opted for the One and Only. It was just ok, at a stretch. The location frankly did not suit me, as I don't care for the wharf area and it is really in no mans land, relatively isolated from everything, certainly... More

Simply spectacular hotel in an amazing location. The staff and the facilities are out of this world. Well worth the money.

Today was my 3rd visit to the One&Only. I have held off doing a tripadvisor as I felt sorry for them in this tough economic climate. But I cant hold off anymore in expressing my disappointment in the poor service, poor quality of food and complete lack of management. After all I am paying my hard-earned money for a service... Third time lucky...both previous times we stayed here, we had a few glitches. However, they seemed to have ironed them out. For her 15th birthday we treated our daughter and 7 close friends to a night here. On arrival they were greeted with welcome drinks and personally shown to their two connecting rooms, which had macaroons and sparkling grape juice... More

As someone that thinks that 5 Star hotels are not worth it, this is the exception to the rule. Awesome from start to finish. You can go for the weekend and not even leave the hotel. Book a room in the main hotel< mountain facing, give the island a miss if you want the view. greta for kids and letting... More

Fabulous stay here in April 2012. Wonderful welcome, - having arrived early morning our room was made immediately available to us.What a good choice we made regarding an island room especially as we were staying for 8 nights. it was exceptionally comfortable, good quality furniture/bedding/ toiletries. I loved the spaciousness of the property, the gardens and pool area were impeccably... More
