The comfort & pet friendliness exceeded our expectations. My main objective was to spend a weekend away somewhere where we could take our dogs too. We stayed in leopard suite 5, nice and private, exceptionally comfortable. My only criticism would be the BRIGHT shiny orange cushions & curtains! That besides the chalets are very well equipped, spotlessly clean with a... More

This is one of the few lodges in South Africa that accept dogs. And the dogs love it. The scenery is magnificent. The lodge is right inside the gorge, overlooking a stunning rock face. We had a self catering unit which I guess was fine in spite of the orange satin cushions on the bed and the fact that the... More

Going to the Lodge in June, my husband didn't expect good fishing but he used the weekend to recce the river to find ideal spots. And there are many (he says). Fishermen are the most optimistic people I know... even if they don't see a fish, they're sure that fish must be lurking nearby! Beautiful scenery in winter, so summer... More

stylish rooms, great service, loved the dogs! Andre was a great host, giving us a free flysishing lesson, as well as taking us quadbiking. the landscape is beautiful, wildlife abundant, and it was a perfect stop between joburg and kruger.

Komati Gorge Lodge is a hidden treasure. Located in the High veld region of South Africa it is slightly off the beaten track, however it is well worth making a little extra effort to get there. Lodge management and staff are welcoming and accommodating. We stayed in the hotel style of accommodation - rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. The... More

Once you have managed to cope with the long (12 Km?) dirt road the lodge is great, It sits close to the Komati River and the views are wonderful. Our room was large, clean and well equiped. Breakfasts were excellent, there not a lot of choice for dinner but it was very good. They will provide a fully equiped pincic... More

We stayed here in June, partly because they allowed dogs, and we were totally delighted with what we found. It's a worry staying somewhere that is dog friendly as there's a possibility it won't be clean, but that was simply not the case here. Very welcoming to both us and our dog, very clean and we were even upgraded to... More

My husband and I decided to get away from the hustle and bustle of our busy working lives for a weekend away without the children. What a wonderful choice. We stayed in the Leopard suite - which was comfortable, clean and private with a jaccuzzi bath and a fire place in the lounge! We spent our weekend reading, relaxing and... More
