It was an absolutely joy to stay in this superbly run B&B. It has the great advantage of having an exceptional restaurant on site which is run by the daughter and her husband of the owners. Our two dinners there count amongst the best meals of my life and I have been fortunate enough to eat in many Michelin starred... More

I am writing this review as I am sitting in the restaurant. This place is an absolute gem. I am in the garden route on business for a one night stay over. I decided to take two roads I have never taken before in the GR. I travel here regularly so had this air of arrogance around me about places... More

Right by the lagoon with boats for to guests to borrow and canoe around. Excellent and personal service. Delicious breakfast. Sorry we didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant because it smelled SO good! More

I’ve travelled all over the world and stayed in various B&B’s and big hotels, Serendipity is the only B&B I ever encountered that felt like home but still like a enchanted holiday! That alone is unique; don’t forget about the amazing restaurant. The staff is all very helpful and good mannered. It really was an unexpected pleasure to stumble upon... More

On our 2-week South African adventure we drove from Hermanus to Wilderness and stayed just one night at Serendipity before continuing on to Knysna. Serendipity is a lovely, gated B&B situated in a quiet residential area. The house backs to a fresh water (but tidal) lagoon, and they had kayaks and canoes that guests could use for free. The entire... More

Go for the food. The rooms are fine, a little cramped, but you can stay elsewhere. More

We very much enjoyed our stay at Serendipity - mostly because of its situation - alongside the river. This made it very special as it was delightful to watch the wildlife in the early mornings and late evenings. The balcony area outside the rooms is very pleasant and well catered for regarding seating and space. The house is well presented,... More

We stayed for two nights at Serendipity during late September, which stay turned into one of the highlights of our travels in the entire Garden Route. While we came in on the spur of the moment, we were taken care of exceptionally well, and given the most gracious and respectful treatment. The reasonable prices requested for our stay at this... The Chef is amazing - the dinner was a superb experience. Room was nice, however, the restaurant noise is loud, but only until 10-10:30pm. Great views from room, however it is spoilt by the noice of the N2 highway on the otherside of the Estuary - all you want to hear is the birds - and unfortuneately you hear the... More
