We came by the Fordoun by chance following a recommendation from a local while touring the Drakenbergs. Spa hotels are not usually the kind of accommodation we look at, buit this was outstanding, both in terms of value and service. We took advantage of a midweek "two nights for the price of one" offer, taking a standard room, which was... More

Well-appointed rooms where much thought has been given to your privacy and comfort. Very good spa with a lovely pool. We have stayed here many times over the years and this was our best time ever. More

We did the 3 night package, staying in one of the new mountain view suites. The suites are beautiful with a great view of the berg. The spa rteatments were wonderful - starting the first day with the rasul and then onto milk baths, massages and facials etc. There is also a wonderful indoor pool and floation tank. The restaurant... More

Spent 7 nights and an 8th just for good measure as we were snowed in, what a blessing, and I could have stayed longer. The food was, well amazing, staff outstanding, friendly, professional and so helpful, the venue, wow, wow, wow, an old dairy farm converted into a modern hotel and spa in a magnificent setting. We will certainly be... More

We (my wife & I) enjoyed our stay 4-day stay and spa-treatment package in September this year even more than we did last year in August. The restaurant has improved its quality somewhat, although the food is still not quite as good as it could be and service remains slow to very slow. But the accommodation facilities are generously-sized and... More

Found Fordoun by chance and lady luck was on our side. A beautiful dairy farm expertly converted into a stunning hotel in the heart of the Natal Midlands. And not only did the owner Jon retain the authentic 18th century buildings which now house the hotel, rooms and spa but many of the hotel staff were part of the dairy... More

This place is great. We stumbled across it by accident but would recommend it for a bit of Olde Worlde charm especially because of it's Scottish heritage - an old farm nicely turned into a spa. Lovely chalet style rooms and stunning main house. Pity some of the spa staff weren't as friendly and welcoming as the rest of the... More

My husband and I stayed at Fordoun for our 5-year anniversary and to get away from the city, where we could relax and unwind. There is absolutely nothing we can fault Fordoun for. We stayed for four nights and thought that we might get bored, but we were well entertained. The accommodation was beautiful, the setting was amazing, the spa... More

I would not refer to myself as the regular Spa-hopper or crawler for that matter, but I have been to quite a number of these resorts before, both locally (South Africa) and abroad and Viva South Africa - Fordoun Spa deserves a mention amongst the top spas in the world. Wonderful to retreat to the country side - open air... More

The hotel is very expensive, but it`s worth to stop here and rest in exceptional atmosphere in the beautiful part of South Africa. The rooms are located in the one-storey wings and they have nice view for the meadows and courtyard. On the first look, they are like parts of the country farm. Our room was quite dark with old...
