We spent two nights here on Easter 2013. What an oasis! Very nice, tastefully decorated room, including air condition and welcome sherry, but no door to our bathroom/shower. Very nice garden, veranda and library/lounge. Host Don is very hospitable and obliging who puts his heart and soul in his b&b. He can give many tips for Durban. The b&b is... More

This was a green oasis in the great and quivering city of Durban. We much enjoyed the host's explanations over fever trees and the garden and rooms nicely decorated African objects, and of course, the welcom drink offered to us in our rooms. A generous place, fully safe and with a map of former visitors wordwide. Be the first of... More

I recently had the great pleasure of staying at the Acorn B&B outside of downtown Durban for three days this past week. The service was incredible as the owner and his wife paid attention to every detail. Don Atkinson and his wife Barbara extended every conceivable hospitality to each guest - including picking up and returning people to the airport,... More

My partner and I stayed for one night. We were so sad for not being able to stay for longer! Even though we checked in late at night, they made us feel very welcome. The breakfat was amazing. Truly the best of hosts.

I stayed at Acorn B&B for a week with colleagues during a work trip and we had a wonderful time. For those who are looking for some peace and tranquility, B&B is the place to go. The bedrooms are cosy and clean, the staff is friendly and the food is great, not to mention the friendly owner Don, who is... More

Enjoyed several days at this nice B&B while visiting our son and his family in Durban. We were disappointed not to meet the owner, who was away for 2 weeks, but were very well looked after by Natalie in his absence. Lovely older home, built in the 1920's, attractively furnished with many South African artifacts and art, as well as... More

We booked 2 nights at the Acorn B'n'B due to the raving reviews on TripAdvisor. However, we can't share them to the full extent, so we felt compelled to add our impressions to the mix to get a more realistic view of the place. The Acorn B'n'B is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in a residential area, with restaurants at... More

We enjoyed our stay at Acorn which is outside of town but close enough to travel to. We only had a night there and Dan made it worth our while. We took advantage of the tour option and saw more of Durban and learned more of the past and present history than we ever would have on our own! We... More
