One of those smart, clean utterly characterless hotels where one cannot find anything wrong, but stuggle to find an ounce of character. Its also seriously out of the way for most of Cape Towns main tourist spots, but good for a quiet sleeop over. In Cape Town? Why would you want that?

The hotel is away from town, but convenient for the local sports grounds, Kirstenbosch etc. Staff were friendly and efficient, rooms were clean and well laid out. the hotel did not really leave much of an impression on me. service, rooms value for money are acceptable. fine if its a quick business trip, not a great idea if you're staying for a while.

I stay at the Southern Sun Newlands almost every month and I must say that from the porter to the manager. All staff are always very friendly and try to help where they can. Rooms are comfortable and now also have free in room Wireless internet.
