All so easy, comfortable, away from Town, relaxing, peaceful. We have revisited for 9 years, every time met with such warm welcome from Suzanne and the Family. The Kids really enjoy getting out of school and away to the Hills for a Braai, zizzz, swim, runs. It is so convenient having the little kitchenette at the ready for them too.... More

A very special thanks for your review. It is so lovely that you have highlighted the atmosphere that we aim to achieve on our hilltop view. Of course it is always wonderful for all of us staff, dogs, family and all to welcome back our returning guests like the family that they become. We look forward to your visit again... More

I took my daughter back to Rhodes university for her thrid year having tried 2 other B&B's in Grahamstown which I will not go back to. A Stone's Throw was perfect for us. We were given a spacious cottage with loft room for my daughter even after booking a smaller room and this at no extra charge.... The cooking facilities... More

The host was warm and genuinely friendly, including her children and even the dog was friendly. The views from the cabin are truly magnificient,we didnt want to leave we were so cozy.Made us wonder why we live in the gridlock of the city. The establishment is truly 'a stones throw' away from the town. One can actually drive down into town for dinner and... I recently visited for 5 nights with my younger daughter, while my older child attended the National Schools Festival in Grahamstown. Plus: Welcoming host and friendly staff (and dogs), beautiful garden setting with fantastic views from the stoep of our log cabin, lovely beds with crisp white linen and electric blankets, fluffy towels, easy and secure parking. This is a wonderful place, neat, clean and affordable. Chalets are very well maintained and have well equipped kitchen. We arrived in the evening after whole day of driving in the rain - our chalet had heating on to welcome us, and the owner called a couple of time to check if everything was fine. Chalets are in a lush... More

Thank you very much for your positive and informative feed-back on A Stone's Throw. I stayed with Suzanne and her team for nearly two weeks and it was like a home from home. Zoleke and Edith looked after me with that warm South African hospitality I have come to expect. I learned several new Xhosa phrases too. I loved my Rondavel room, my breakfast companions wild or otherwise! Expect sweeping views, Hornbills, Hahdedahs and... More
