We chose the Kaibab Lodge because the Grand Canyon Lodge was booked and this was our only alternative on the North Rim. We would have been better off sleeping in the car (which we eventually did). There was no air conditioning in our room and the windows had been nailed shut. It was extremely stuffy. There were bugs everywhere both... More

We managed to get a night here on the off chance, when we decided to spend longer at the North Rim. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the restaurant provided good food at a reasonable price, the rooms were warm and clean, and the beds incredibly comfy. Our room was one of four in a cabin to the back... More

We knew going in, the being the closest open lodge to the north rim, it would be pricey, but we were sorely disappointed. The staff was insulted that I even asked about a television in the room. It was cold and most travelers prefer to relax in their room and have the ability to check weather reports, etc. There was... More

This hotel was the closest option to the North Rim when we were there - the Grand Canyon Lodge had already closed for the season. We were in the handicapped room and it was large and clean. There was one double bed and one twin bed in the room and both were adequate. There was television and sporadic Internet access... More

We stopped here while visiting the North Rim due to the location of the hotel. Since it is off season, they didn't have a lot of rooms available so they put us in the handicapped room for $150 per night. The room is updated, fairly comfortable bed, yes the heater is noisy but you get used to it. Very clean,... More

I knew this wasn't going to be a super comfy place to stay when I read the other reviews. And for the location it was fine. I mean, very rustic, blankets/sheets not very cozy/warm, very sparse. again, its the location that works so well here. the restaurant staff however was very friendly and helpful and the food wasn't that bad,... We needed a place close, on short notice, for our mule ride the following morning, too bad we stayed here. Way over priced, the restaurant staff was bickering with each other, and the cabin furnace/heater was so noisy you couldn't sleep. Should have driven the extra hour and gotten up at 5am. More

We needed two nights to crash while doing the Rim2Rim2Rim of the Grand Canyon and this place fit the bill. ABout a 20 minute drive to the North Rim, it was low key and literally just a place to crash. Loved the lobby with the fire place. If you are looking for something fancy (or really clean...), this is not... More

Our visit to the North Rim was at the end of our vacation and supposed to be the highlight of our trip. We were very disappointed with the Kaibab lodge, it was priced as a 5 star lodge but the accomodations were more like motel 6. We switched rooms after the first night of our stay based on an opening... More

Reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, I didn't expect much at Kaibab Lodge. I chose the lodge because of its location, a mere 5 miles from the North Rim entrance. The Grand Canyon Lodge in the park itself was booked and the next closest motel is in Jacob Lake (see my review of Jacob Lake Inn). The cabins are spartan.... More
