We stayed in the family room which was lovely and spacious. Everything basic and no shower but at the same time no airs and graces so comfortable. Lovely place Newport and the Castle Hotel looked good as a restaurant & pub. However, during the week we visited only twice due to daytime locals who were clearly drunk and who the bar staff failed to control and continued to serve. We had a very enjoyable break. The room was surprisingly large, clean and comfortable, with a television and tea/coffeee-making facilities (no hairdryer though!).
