Detailed Reviews

Stayed here for one night in May. Felt like an old English seaside hotel. Traditional decor. Nice clean room. Free coffee and tea by reception which is nice. Would normally rate this a 3 star stay. However this deserves 4 stars, due to the staff. They were lovely. We came back from a night at a restaurant to be greeted with glasses of free sparkling wine. Lovely touch. I would recommend this hotel.

Stayed here on New Years Eve as we were attending a NY party in nearby Koln and everywhere else was fully booked. The hotel and rooms are a bit dated but the staff is friendly and helpful and everything is spotless. For a budget hotel I'd say they're quite generous with mini-bars in the room, towels and toiletries in the bathroom, even complimentary sweets and fruit in the room. It is a nice touch and makes you feel welcomed. Bed was a bit too soft for me but might be perfect for others. The breakfast next day had plenty of vegetarian options, I was really impressed with the seeds and nuts option, there's various choices of cheese and meats, fresh salmon and soft boiled eggs. Nothing missing, really. Senseo coffee is on free flow, the breakfast salon is quite quaint and the lady that was on duty on the first morning of the year was really friendly and going out of her way to get special orders served promptly, tidy up and generally tend to everyone's needs very professionally. The parking is free and quite large in the compound at the back of the hotel that is part of a small shopping centre. There is a hair salon and Italian restaurant just in case you want something else and can't be bothered to go very far. Overall, a very good stay considering we booked on a very short notice and a very good option as it's a short drive from Koln.

+1
Stayed for one night on business. Staff were friendly on check in. Room was good size and clean with bathroom en suite. Bed was comfy. Room overlooked the main road but the windows when closed were very good at keeping the noise down. There was a fan in the room but no air conditioning. The hotel is in a nice area, with plenty of shops and a mix of new and old buildings, about 40km from Cologne. Breakfast was great with a wide selection of hot and cold items.
