Great family run hostel. It is what is says a hostel so don't expect a hotel but the rooms are clean, beds are some of the most comfortable I've slept on in Vietnam and the lady manager was brilliant. Very nice staff, location right next to the market, great view from the upper located rooms. Free WiFi. Not very clean. Towels and bed sheets glory years have already passed. Generally good and friendly place. Could be cleaner.

Rooms were ok for the price you paid, no ventilation though so it was pretty damp. Our room in this hostel was very spacious, but not too clean. For the money we paid it was ok, nothing special. The woman at the reception was very friendly and she can arrange transport from Lao Cai train station that drops you off in front of the hostel.
