This was a nice hotel for the money. We stayed in a king room with a kitchenette. The kitchenette has no dishes, utensils, or a stove. Its a sink, microwave, and mini fridge. If you need more than that, the Aspen Hotel isn't the place to be. The hotel is located right on a public river walk of the Kenai... More

Stayed three nights on 2nd floor. The room was comfortable. King bed was nice, but our particular bed was a bit "broken down" so it was too soft to our liking. The room & hotel were clean, the kitchenette was fine (but note there is nothing stocked in the kitchen, no dishes, glasses or flatware). For having a kitchenette the... More

Stayed with my son's hockey team. Room was ok. My complaint is about the service. The front desk guy David tried to kick the kids out of the pool at 9pm, when the sign clearly said open swim until 10pm.When I questioned why he was doing this he couldn't really give me a reason. The kids were well supervised with... More

The best thing about the Aspen is the location next to Odies sandwich shop. The room was clean but I notices allot of people smoking, allot of noise at night.

Pros: great central location for any trip you have planned to the area, river runs behind it, Safeway and Kaladi brothers across the street, very clean (great job house keeping and Ling who takes care of the breakfast and keeping the front lobby clean), indoor pool, suite has kitchenette with living area and door to bedroom. Cons: our suite was... More

The reservationist was excellent, friendly, and efficient - she painted a picture of the hotel as a really nice place to stay. The best part of the hotel was the breakfast in the morning - not very many people there so we had the place to ourselves. The hotel employee in the breakfast area was very helpful and friendly, and... More

Our 2nd visit to hotel. Stayed with husband and friends for 2 nights. In Soldotna to fish. Room very clean with everything needed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great view of river behind hotel. Would stay a 3rd time.

The town of Soldotna was only on our itinerary because of a flight seeing arrangement. The Aspen Hotel was a wonderful stop for the night as it was quiet, clean and comfortable. We had a nice kitchenette area and good internet. We didn't try the swimming pool, but it is one of the few indoor pools we saw on the... More

This was a clean, basic hotel with an indoor pool, exercise room and laundry room. The rear overlooks a river walk with a boardwalk. The front is set back from the road, but you can see the McDonalds, etc. Shops are convenient in the area. Very close (by car) is a great restaurant, St. Elias Brewery that offers different large... Overall, I thought this Aspen Hotel in Soldotna is the best place to stay if you want to stay along the Sterling Highway area. My room was clean, sheets fresh and it was large enough. Bath was clean and they provided free internet. There was only one ice machine on the first floor but I could live with that and... More
