We stayed here because our cruise ship docked right across the street. They had a hospitality room set up for passengers and this is where we could get our bags. Although we got there about 9:00 AM, they went ahead and gave us a room. :) The place is in need of updating. Rather shabby; however, the staff were helpful... More

We stayed here about 7 years ago and it was excellent but much has changed since then - EXcluding the bedspreads and carpets, that is. The standard in customer service has dropped for sure, I mean what hotel desk clerk in Juneau, Alaska could possibly NOT know when flights come and go in Juneau? They have an airport shuttle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Drivers,... More

We stayed at this hotel in June for our wedding. Of all the hotels we saw in Juneau this seemed the nicest. The plusses about this hotel 1)The staff is extremely friendly 2)The restaurant manager made sure that our wedding dinner was amazing! Kudos to him and the chef! 3) The bed was comfy, and the room clean The negatives:... More

Room was ready upon arrival, internet works just fine, good view of the mountain. Would have used a fridge and microwave if available, but got along ok without. Bed good, didn't notice any noise problems, and I was next to the elevator. Could have used convenient electrical outlets, which were in wrong place and too few. Chinese food restaurant in... More

I stayed here about 10 years ago, and remembered it as being pretty nice. This trip, the staff was really nice and helpful, and of course, it's convenient to downtown Juneau, but the rooms are just a bit shabby. The bedspread looked like something from the 1960s, and the electrical sockets were so inconvenient - I had to unplug lamps... More

The room was probably last updated over 20 years ago. However, I didn't feel grungy staying here. There are not a lot of lodging choices in Juneau, and this was fine for two nights.

I realize it is hard for hotels in many cities/towns around Alaska since the tourist season is only a few months, but I was sorely disappointed in the Goldbelt Juneau. When we arrived we had reserved (5 months prior, and had the printout with us as proof just in case) 2 queen rooms with water views. We went upstairs and... More

My husband and I stayed here for several nights in July 2011. The location is great; we found the staff to be friendly (especially the shuttle drivers); the room was bigger than we expected; and the Zen restaurant in the lobby was convenient and offered nice choices for breakfast--even if a little expensive (but that is the norm in Alaska).... We stayed at the Goldbelt in May/June 2011 at the beginning and end of a yacht cruise of the Inside Passage. We made reservations online and got a good rate with a senior discount. The hotel provides free transportation to and from the airport but not the ferry terminal which is about 14 miles out. We arrived by plane and... More

Great location downtown. Very friendly, accommodating staff. Food and atmosphere in the restaurant (Zen) was nice. Price was very reasonable for alaska in the summer. And yes, the hotel furnishing are rather dated. All in all, I enjoyed my stay here for 7 nights.
