Coldfoot Camp is essentially a truck stop on the Dalton Highway. There is a cafe for guests and a reserved section which reads TRUCKERS ONLY. Get the picture? Anyway, the accommodation is about a 120 metre walk from the cafe over a carpark which is frozen in winter. The inn looks like it was pre-fabricated out of componet parts and... More

It's almost the only one (there are 2~3 B&B nearby only and offering less than 10 beds) in the way to the northern sea. It cost 200USD for 2 single bed. Just toooo expensive. But, the good thing is that you can always see the northern light here. The room is really clean actually. I didn't expect it to have... More

We drove where ever it was possible to explore as much of Alaska as possible. We loved the experience of the "haul" road aka Dalton Hwy. Rough, muddy, slick and you must yield right of way to truckers. We had cb radios and listened to the trucker chatter-they were among the most curteous we've heard in our thousands of miles... More

During a 7 day land tour with Princess Cruises, half way down the Dalton Highway (Haul Road for you Ice Road Truckers fans) from Deadhorse/Purdhoe Bay you'll find the Slate Creek Inn Coldfoot Camp. After a 239 mile, day long and beautiful bus ride from Deadhorse (Prudhoe Bay) Alaska we stopped for the night at the Slate Creek Inn Coldfoot.... More

Well what can you say about this oasis in the wilderness, the rooms are what we expected very ordinary but part of the experience, we knew this wasnt going to be 2star or more. It would be nice if the walls were a little thicker so you had some privacy, all in all we were happy with the experience and... More

Paid just south of $200 to end up sleeping in my car because the room had such a bad odor. Perfect if you are a truck driver, hunter, or desperate. However, tourists have no other choice :( More

Stayed at the Coldfoot Camp on the way to Dead Horse. Thanks to Trip Advisor and watching 'Ice Road Truckers' it was exactly as expected. The place is a real hoot if you are willing to understand you are in the Alaska wilderness. All in all well worth the experience. There is an Inter Agency Government visitor center across the... Stopped at Coldfoot traveling both ways on the Haul Road. Meals are truck-stop typical- lots of fried food, but the breakfast buffet was worth the cost, and the one dinner special we had was okay. Our room was very basic, and at $199.00, not a bargain, but after tenting out for a week, we were in no mood to quibble.... More

If you passed this conglomerate of trailers or pre-fab buildings joined together as you drive along any city in the US, you would probably look, laugh, and keep on driving. But this is not any city, it is Coldfoot – the ONLY stop between Prudhoe Bay and Fairbanks – about 250 miles from each. Yes, there are one or two... More

This hotel is in a barely accessible location above the arctic circle. Everything hast to be trucked in. Think subdivided trailer with a smal toilet and shower and you've got the picture. The dirt/mud/ice parking lot separates the hotel from the restaurant. Not the best food, but you'll survive. Folks are friendly and talkative ... try to engage one of... More
