Puntarenas is expensive and generally uninteresting, but this hotel is reasonably priced, clean, right on the beach, close to the ferry and has a friendly and helpful host. Highly recommended.

Stayed here one night before waking up early to catch the ferry over to nicoya. The town of puntas arenas didn't have a lot to offer, kind of a quiet boring town from what we could tell. The hotel though was very nice, came hot water which isn't to common in costa rica, a kitchen and three beds. Michael was...

You can't really do any better in town than at Michaels. The mile long beach in Punteranas is largely overlooked by most travelers. But the rooms facing the beach have an awesome waterfront view. The room was great. You could prepare food to save on resturants. The room was fine and clean. Even though most people just pass through town,...

If you want a reasonably priced hotel with AC, a high powered fan, the ability to cook your own meals in their kitchenette, and a refrigerator to stash some leftovers or Pilsens/Imperials/Cuba Libres, Michael's is perfect. Literally right across from the beach, and just a short walk from the ferry and the point (to take in an amazing view of...

Michael's is a very basic hotel but adequate for a relatively inexpensive, safe place to stay if catching an easy ferry out of Puntarenas. Room was clean but relatively spartan, sheets were not cotton and no blankets. Quiet and safe. secure parking.

We stayed at Mike's when catching the ferry the next morning. It had everything we needed - gated parking, secure entrance, helpful information from Mike about ferries and where to eat, fridge, hot water shower, AC. Really close to the ferry, with cafes, restaurants and corner shops within walking distance. Shame we weren't there long enough to enjoy relaxing by...

This little gem of a hotel in Puntarenas is awesome. Very clean and safe, well kept and in a perfect location directly across from the beach. Has a nice pool to relax on those hot days, room even had a jacuzzi tub and a kitchenette. A nice place to just get away from it all for a couple days. Only...

Micheal’s is a small, very well located hotel. The front is only across the street from the wide beach and three blocks the other direction is a smaller bay bordered by mangroves. Puntarenas is actually a long peninsula with Micheal's at the far end of it so one is essentially surrounded on three sides by water. All rooms face the...

We stayed in Puntarenas for a night in order to catch the ferry the next morning. Puntarenas was probably our least favorite spot in CR but Michael's hotel treated us just fine. The room was pretty clean, spacious and pretty well priced. Michael himself was very pleasant and spent a good amount of time giving us tips on Puntarenas and...

Im from Costa Rica... On September 15th Holiday (Independence day) my mother, sister and I traveled to Puntarenas to spend two days at the beach. We certainly look every hotel possible... The prices were way to high... When we were about to give up we noticed a beautiful mural just in front of the beach. It looked pretty much like...
