We stayed at Rio Tio Safari Lodge because a traveler we met the day before highly recommended it. She told us it was "paradise on Earth". It turned out she was quite right. The tent you sleep in is next to a beautiful river and waterfall. There are beautiful flowers and butterflies everywhere. The hosts are charming and very helpful.... More

What an awesome experience! The safari tents were amazing, I was a little skeptical at first but seeing is believing. I slept like a baby every night, can't even do that at home. The tents (I have a hard time saying tents because they are cleaner and nicer than most hotel rooms) put you right in touch with nature. I... More

This is not just sleeping in tents, but "glamping" in luxurious safari tents. Beautifull setting. Kind and lovely hosts, nothing is to much for them. Great home made breakfast. Good swimming at Pavon waterfalls. We will never forget our stay in Rio Tico Lodge. More

Very friendly owners/staff. Very helpful. The tents were so luxurious you didn't feel like you were "camping". The jungle at night lulls you to sleep and drowns out any other noises around! Quite a bumpy road to get there but worth it. Would recommend and would go back. The homemade breakfast each day is delish. Limited cellphone coverage of course,... More

We booked here as our first choice up the coast had no availability. So glad the universe presented us this option. The host and his family were so kind and welcoming. The tent cabins were awesome. You feel like you are in the midst of the jungle. Oh, that's right, you are. Well worth the 10 minute drive off the... More

We stayed here in Feb. 2012 with our three little kids. We felt that Osa was too rugged and far and that this place - near Uvvita had everything that we were looking for. This place was really wonderful and amazing. The owners Cees and Miranda went OUT of their way again and again to make sure that we were... More

We stayed here a total of 3 nights during our 3 week trip to costa rica. I could never imagine that "camping" could be so luxurious. Our tent had a giant (for costa rican standards) bed that even my 6'7" boyfreind could fit on. The hosts were very freindly and helpful. They arranged for us to spend 2 nights at... More

Cees (Case) and Miranda were fabulous hosts. I continue to be amazed at the energy that a good host requires to keep everybody happy. These guys have it down to a science. The swimming holes and waterfalls on the property are sublime. The Tent platforms were luxurious and bug free. Great hot shower. Breakfast(extra, but good value) was always great. More

I stayed here for 3 nights and could have stayed 3 months! I felt like family! Cees and Miranda and their wonderful boys as well as Karen and Flora the housekeepers made my stay even more memorable. The safari tents in the rain forest with the river and jungle sounds lulling me to sleep each night was breath-taking. Breakfast was... More

This was definitely one of our top best addresses in Costa Rica. We spent 4 days with our kids in this marvellous place. Superb and comfortable safari tents planted in the wonderful valley of the Rio Tico at a few kilometers from the ocean. Refreshing swimming in the magnificent pools and falls of the Rio Tico at a few steps... More
