The hotel rooms are nice, but too small. The swimming pool is average, but the hot tub next to it is never on. The staff was incredible rude when we ask for the hot tub to be turn on, so it is like there is no hot tub. Do not be surprise about the breakfast; it is very cheap, and... More

Hola Mauricio, We at Hotel Mandarina are glad you found your room nice. Unfortunately, we have no plans to increase the size of them. I'm sure you survived ok. Our swimming pool is lined with nice blue tiles and has a little waterfall if turned on... however, we could not afford gold trim or Venus statues...sorry about that. We usually... More

I had a great three-day stay at the Hotel Mandarina. The bus between Quepos and the Manuel Antonio beaches and park stops right in front of the hotel so you can easily get to both Quepos and the beaches in 5-10 minutes for about 250 colones (45 cents). It have even been cheaper than that. My room was very nice... More

Hola Jos76! Thank You for your positive review of Hotel Mandarina! And thank you for your helpful tips regarding public transportation. The bus stops pretty frequently during the day and is very cheap It stops maybe 100 feet away. We are glad you enjoyed our breakfast and room decor! Hope to see you again! Pura Vida! —Gary A. This hotel was nicely located and shady. The room was great, very comfortable bed, great employees (very helpful), and the stay includes breakfast. What I enjoyed the best was seeing the sloth so close up. We were walking in after dinner and he was hanging from bannister. The monkeys also put on a show while we were there. We went... More

Hola SolyLuna_12! It's always nice to have a guest who appreciates our Hotel Mandarina and then writes about it! We are glad you found the bed comfortable... there are quite a few hotels in CR that don't get around to upgrading their mattresses as I have found in my travels! We are glad to know our employees were helpful...that is... More

I spent a few days there reading a gay love story called THE HELLESPONT which I downloaded on Kindle. I travel with a rucksack so can't carry heavy books although it is nice to have paper. Costa Rica has some lovely spots and some not interesting - so get informed before going! More

We've stayed there for 3 nights, and it was great! the hotel staff was really nice and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. When we arrived to check-in they upgraded us and we got a lovely room from which you could see the pool area and the greenery in the property. Breakfast was great. More

We stayed at Hotel Mandarina during our 6 day stay in Manual Antonio. Staff were very welcoming and friendly, ready to give advice on restaurant options and directions in the area. Upon arrival our room was updated and we had a lovely view of the grounds and pool area. I loved waking up and seeing the monkeys in the trees... More

My fiance and I stayed at Hotel Mandarina for 2 nights in January 2012. Our safe was broken, so our only option was to put our valuables in our suitcases. On the second night our hotel room was broken into. All of our electronics were stolen in including 2 very nice cameras, Ipod, and cellphone, plus $400 in cash. We... More

We had an incident at Hotel Mandarina, the night of January 26th. In the almost 5 years of owning Hotel Mandarina, other than an in-room LCD television being pilfered, this is our first robbery. This is especially troubling to us since we have had walls built around the parts of the property that face uninhabited land. We have a security... More

We absolutely loved our stay here!! At first sight from the street, it doesn't look like much, but that's only the reception desk which is separated from the rest of the hotel. The hotel is actually down the driveway in the back, surrounded by jungle. And the rooms are just gorgeous!! They are all stand alone rooms that offer a... More

We were interested in staying at Hotel Mandarina, but were weary of booking through the hotel's website. It requires your credit card information just to make a reservation request. We decided to check out the place when we actually got to Manuel Antonio. We were pleased with what we found. The grounds are beautiful. It is built into the side... More

Andres, who is in charge of hotel operations, was extremely helpful with everything, and we loved our apartment (two bedrooms, kitchen, dining area, 4 beds)!
