I signed up a three day and two night tour with Jungle Tom's Safari, we took the economy package which is $220. It includes all the food (soft drink and alcohol extra), three tours, the tour only runs in the morning. Our 2nd afternoon was empty so we decided to take a canoe tour for $20 each person. The lodge... More

Evergreen delivered. We arrived jetlagged and exhausted, bemused by the 40min commute to the hotel but we were not disappointed. Our initial room seems more like a hostel accommodation and when we mentioned that this was not what we had expected they immediately upgraded us with no extra charge (it seems the initial room was for families and had we... Evergreen was our first stop in Costa Rica, and it is one that will remain in our memory: the location is great, the rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is very helpfull and so friendly! We forgot the baby's stroller in San José (how stupid can you be...) and the staff + touroperator did everything to get the damn... More

Our stay at the Evergreen Lodge was great! You definitely felt like you were in the rainforest. The rooms had no air conditioning, no tv, no internet, and no windows (just screens). It was cool to hear all the animals living in the rainforest; it kinda put you to sleep. All meals were included and so were tours of the... More

Tortuguero National Park is reached only by water, a one hour boat trip into the rainforest. Evergreen Lodge consists of individual wooden cabins on stilts in the forest. The cabins have windows down both sides which have mesh instead of glass. They are basic but do have shower rooms and a veranda with rocking chairs if yu are brave enough... More

This lodge and the available activities were the highlight of our 12 day trip to Costa Rica. Outstanding restaurant with stunning fresh flowers at each meal and attentive service. Heidi, the manager, is tops. We watched the endangered green sea turtle hatchlings as they rushed to the ocean, cruised down the canals through the jungle, watched monkeys frolic through the... More

We came here with Activities Abroad. It was an amazing well conducted trip with great opportunites to get close to the wildlife. This lodge provided clean accommodation, good food and a great pool for the children to have fun in. There were monkeys right outside the room which the children adored. We took the night turtle tour and were very... More

I was hesitant to stay at a rainforest lodge with no air conditioning, but our 2 night stay at the Evergreen Lodge in Tortuguero was right in the middle of our tour. I will say, it was one of the best experiences. These 'cabins' are a few feet off the ground and connected by raised walkways, clearly to minimize the... More

We stayed 2 nights here in a standard room with 2 queen beds (#54, nice end unit with more windows than the other inside rooms). When you stay here it's automatically an all-inclusive package with food and tours included but alcoholic drinks and soft drinks are extra. Tour guides were excellent. We had Oliver as our primary guide and he... More

While we loved Tortuguero - the Evergreen was not a highlight. The pool that belongs to the hotel is teeny and funky smelling. Use the turtle-shaped pool way down the path (I think it belongs to the property next door) instead. We requested towels for swimming at check in, at the pool, at the other pool, at the desk, at...
