We came here with no knowledge of what we were getting into; we got into Costa Rica off a ship in Puntarenas and just asked around for something to do for a few days. Got the recommendation to come here. Rented a car and drove out; got there in the pitch dark of night and were the only guests there... More

We had a great time at Pozo Azul.. We did the canopy/white water rafting combo. All the guides were very friendly and we felt safe the entire time. The lunch that came with the combo was very good.

We visited Pozo Azul for a day trip for the activities. This is a terrific place. The staff is professional. Safety is the highest priority with customer service sharing the number one spot. We white water rafted and horseback rode. Both fun and excellent. Others zip lined and said it was fun and safe. Lunch was delicious. I would highly... More

To start: I did not stay at the Hacienda, but at the Tent Suites, which is located 1,5 km from the hotel-restaurant complex, in the jungle. It encompasses 30 bungalow-tents in a forest, linked by a good trail. You sleep in a large tent (in my case with queen-size beds), with an bathroom annex (small concrete building attached to the... On our last family vacation Christmas 2011 each member of the family decided an activity or place they wanted to visit, this was our oldest daughter of 21. The facilities at Hacienda Pozo Azul were as we expected them and more, as we are campers and this was certainly deluxe camping! We could actually walk around in this tent. and... More

It's in the forest, yet I could see a field with a concrete basketball court from my balcony, which rather takes away from the "secluded jungle retreat" feel which they were aiming for. The tent itself was nice, certainly not luxury by any standards. The beds were comfy, there was a fan and a decent toilet/shower room. There are quite... More

This is a beautiful area of the country and such amazing adventurous activities to choose from! We were travelling with Activities Abroad who did a fantastic job of making sure everything went smoothly. The local gudes were brilliant and the safety equipment was excellent. We were all nervous to start, but ended up loving the thrill of zip wires (12!)... More

First I have to comment on the horses. I'm a horse person. Used to ride the circuit. These were some of the nicest, most well-mannered & happiest horses I have ever come across. I am so used to seeing horses in terrible condition in Central America that It is lovely to see some nicely cared for horses. But this place... More

Would have liked to have known that the zip lines, particularly when wet, will drip on you... Grease from the cable and blocks, which stains your clothes. Just be prepared to get dirty and you will be fine. Well worth the trip and the money. Steven and Tavo were amazing!
