We were just passing through and too tired to drive back to our hotel in Samara, so we only got to stay one night...I wish we could have stayed longer! The owners are both super friendly and laid-back, and you get a shot of patron with them when you check in! The hotel includes breakfast, which was suprisingly good, and... More

There was a take out menu that u can order from anywhere and it's only $5 for delivery. I loved the services that the owner Cinde and TJ gave us. (Myself, boyfriend Philip, and... More

My 3 girlfriends and I ended up staying in at Hotel Villa Amarilla after leaving another hotel in search of a place with better atmosphere. From the moment we walked into the hotel we knew we had found the perfect place for us. Cindy was happy to show us the rooms, which were beautifully painted, clean, and had everything we... More

I have traveled to many countries in my years and never thought Costa Rica would be my favorite. Cinde and TJ at Villa Amarilla made my stay unbelievable. We booked online. Cinde arranged for a van to meet us at the airport and pick us up. We were greeted with a big welcome. The rooms were clean and came equipt... More

Hotel Villa Amarilla was everything we could have asked for! We stumbled onto it after deciding to hotel search once we realized the hostel we were staying in was not how we wanted to spend our vacation, and were SO glad we did! Our original room was great and we were upgraded to an even better room after the first... More

This was our 3rd stay at Villa Amarilla and 1st stay with new owner, Cinde, which was perfect! Cinde and TJ have made some great upgrades to the hotel and the hospitality proved superb. One evening when inviting some friends over, we decided to cook in the outdoor kitchen. Once Cinde heard we were having some special guests for dinner,... More

We found our Costa Rican paradise at Villa Amarilla, and we will definitely go back one day. The town of Tamarindo itself is relaxed and lazy, has some very good restaurants and plenty of day and halfday trips to choose from. The beach is beautiful and the sunsets are breathtaking! We fell in love with Villa Amarilla the moment we... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
As of July 5, 2012, we have reopened Hotel Villa Amarilla (yellow village). It is a funky, fun, feel at home hotel. You check-in as a guest but check-out as a friend. We've had a facelift. New lush grass and plants to new beds and the softess sheets and comfy pillows. In the morning get to know our other friends (guests) by sharing coffee, muffins and fruit for breakfast. A/C, cable t.v. hot water and Wifi are also included in the rooms. We our right on the beach with the most beautiful sunsets. Here in Tamarindo, people stop what they are doing just to watch the sunsets. We are in the center of town (right next to the Diria), big yellow hotel with a surfer on the front of the building along with a parrot, a monkey, iguana, a couple of fish and a frog. You can't miss us, don't miss the experience of the Hotel Villa Amarilla. ... more   less
