Nice backpacker with fair rates (compared to others in La Fortuna). Clean rooms with private bathroom and shower. Breakfast at additional 4$. WiFi free and fast. Electricity in the room. No hooks on the wall. Friendly staff. Lockers in sight of reception, bring your own lock.

Nice, clean and cheap hostel. Close to the main street in La Fortuna and very safe. Close to restaurants, bus station and banks. Stayed in a private room with 1 double bed and 1 single bed and was very clean. I paid about $55 for 3 days. Safes are available but you need to bring your own lock. There is... More

The owner is incredible and can help you with Anything you need. The room was worth the price and very clean. Of course being a spoiled American I hated not having AC but we didn't spend much time there at all. The Breakfast was INCREDIBLE!!! The fresh pineapple juice was so delicious. If you're a backpacker, you just need a... More

La Fortuna Backpackers was the best place to stay in La Fortuna without a doubt. Hostel owners are very nice and helpful. Do arrange activities--such as repelling or Baldi--through this hostel! Rooms and bathrooms were very very clean. The stay was only $10, and towels are included (This was one rare occasion in Costa Rica where towels are provided!). You... More

A small hostel with a friendly owner. We had a private room with two beds. There are shared bathrooms and showers just off the "lobby". Not real private. Average cleanliness. We had little ants all over our room that invaded our bags. No A/C meant our room hovered around 85 degrees at night. Fan did little to help. Sometimes it's... More

Clean, friendly hostel with well equipped kitchen and basic but clean rooms. But best of all is the owner, Lilo. He gaves us great advice and booked good value tours and onward travel for us. Currently a lack of areas to relax in but Lilo is working on the garden and once the plants all grow and a few more... More

I stayed here a couple nights during my spring break with my girlfriend and one other friend for a very low price. We had a private room and it was very clean. The bathroom and showers were also very clean. The staff is very friendly. They are always willing to help and they have a cookout most nights. We rented... More

I should start by saying I'm not a hardcore backbacker. When we first booked this place for 2 nights I thought "Well, if it's bad then we just lost $8 a night, no big deal, NOTHING anywhere was this cheap". We were SOO pleasantly surprised! for the price it was A STEAL. It was super super clean, basic, but clean.... More
