My husband and I recently stayed in one of the cabins at Cerro Azul. The cabin was immaculately clean, had a mini fridge, and a front and back porch. The view from the front was the Arenal Volcano and the view from the back is flora and fauna (lots of birds and resident cows and horses). There is parking if... More

Hotel Cerro Azul is in a beautiful setting and operated by a concerned family (Alvaro, wife and son, Roy) who personalized their care and attention. The cabins have beautiful views out of both the front and back porches. It's conveniently located for people with vehicles and is clean, quiet, and surrounded by the flora and fauna (birds) that are one... More

I'm so glad we stayed here! My husband and I stayed at 5 different hotels on our trip to Costa Rica varying from big chains to small boutique hotels. Hotel Cerro Azul was by far the most charming and peaceful of our experiences. It's located on a quiet, brick road with a view of the volcano. The 4 cabins are... More

This was by far our favorite place we stayed in Costa Rica...and we stayed in 4 different places over a 2 week span, including a boutique hotel and spa. Alvaro, the owner, was very welcoming, as was his wife, son and dog! Alvaro was also very helpful with suggesting things to do in the area. We had a delicious breakfast... More

We chose Rancho Cerro Azul based on tripadvisor rating, it was disappointing. The place is very basic cabin setup, and the design is bad. It has an oversized washroom with a lot of space wasted, while the bedroom itself feels small. The shelf is in washroom, no place to hang clothes in bedroom, so everything is wet and hard to... More

When I booked this place I wasn't sure what to expect. Sometimes pictures look good but the surrounding area turns out to be so so. This was not the case at all at Cerro Azul, this place was awesome. I loved the cabins and the feel was so comfortable and inviting. I enjoyed the balcony off the back and we... More

I wish I had cut my time in Samara so I could have stayed with the Aragon family a bit longer. We stayed for 4 nights and we did an activity or two (max) each day. It really is the minimum time one should spend in La Fortuna. The first day we arrived, we were welcomed by Don Aragon who... More

This is a little treasure in the La Fortuna area for a very reasonable price (They offer a $5/day discount if you pay in cash). Upon our arrival (we stayed 3 nights), the owner and his wife knew it was our honeymoon and fixed up our room with candles, flowers, champaign, champaign glasses and swan towels. They wanted to make... More

Quit, nice relaxing place. Nice, friendly owners who explained everything in the region without insisting. Local breakfast was excellent with fresh herbs and fruit.

These are not rooms. There are 4 cabins with entrance off to the side from the road that goes to the waterfall. The back faces the rainforest. Landscaping is taken care of. Very colorful. Parking on site and free. There is a hammock in the back porch with a small table and two chairs. Very relaxing after a strenuous hiking... More
