This is one of the most beautiful places we saw in Costa Rica! It sits high on the mountain (a little difficult to find at first- "just keep going up" Maite said) overlooking the gorgeous lush valley between Carbonal mountain and San Isidro mountain. The weather is warm in the daytime and cool in the evening. Maite and Jose (... More

My husband and I stayed two nights with Maite and Jose. We would have stayed more but they were booked. We had a wonderful, homemade meal made for us when we returned from the Peace Gardens. Maite found us another stay within Grecia with a call to a friend. Such helpfulness is well remembered.

We had a very nice overnight stay on the first lag of our driving trip from San Jose to Arenal. Mango Valley is off the beaten track, but that's what you expect when you rent a car in Costa Rica. The accommodations were clean and basic, the property was simple and had a pleasant valley view. A simple breakfast was... More

It was a pleasure staying at Hotel Mango Valley. Maite and Jose were the perfect hosts. The weather at Mango Valley is closed to perfect and the views were amazing. The cabin was spotless and well equipped. The only reason why I gave 4 stars is because even though breakfast was very good I would have preferred a Costa Rican... More

Hello Rocio! Thank you very much for the days you stayed with us. Actually your comment about breakfast made us think about it and did the test: we serve "gallo pinto" cooked by Nuria. Unfortunately we have discovered that only Costa Ricans like the "gallo pinto" and we decided to keep the breakfast as it was (all nationalities like it).... More

My friend and I stayed here one night after our arrival from the airport. When we realized how wonderful it was we wished we had planned more time here. The room was great with a kitchenette and fresh local coffee for us. The grounds are beautiful and the cabins are quaint, roomy, clean and comfy. The greeting that Jose gave... More

Hi Paula and Terry! Curiously, we have talked more before and after your stay than during your night with us :) Too bad it was only one night... You never know what the future holds but maybe you return to Costa Rica and, if so, come and see us! We take a "cafelito" (cup of coffee) while enjoying the gardens.... More

We stayed at this B&B for a 2 week vacation in Costa Rica. Located a few minutes outside of Grecia, this fantastic B&B provided so much more than just a great central location to see Costa Rica from. The beautiful one bedroom cabin had everything we needed to live in if we wanted to just retire there :) the view... More

Hello Warren! Before I say anything else: we miss you!!! I've been slow to write to tell you two news: - We have no donkey and we will not have LOL As much as Jose has a campaign with our guests he is not going to convince me - We have shade at the pool! Your comments helped us decide... More

Small but comfortable guest houses are located in a wonderful location high in the hills. Owners are English speaking (from Spain) and are extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast is fabulous! The only downside is that it is way up high and a bit hard to find at first. If you have a GPS you can use the coordinates they supply... More

First, let me just say what great people Maite and her husband Jose are. The two of them are so welcoming, pleasant and genuine. Mango Valley is so relaxing and beautiful. The staff working at Mango Valley - Nuriya and Javier as well as the gardeners are very polite and pleasant as well. Mango Valley is definitely going to continue... More

Hi Joanne! You know that we hope you come back to visit us.You still have plenty to see here! Marete, the owner and hostess, waited for us till we arrived after dark. Our cabin was spotless the beds comfortable and the sheets and towels perfect. But it was the morning that held the big surprise. We woke to bird songs, grounds that were brightly flowered, a cool but spotlessly clean swimming pool and a few trails that lead to... More

Firstly, the setting of the hotel right in the center of a coffee plantation is perfect! As a result it is very private and quiet being well away from the road. Jose & Maite have done an excellent job presenting the cabins in a very clean and practical manner which included refrigerator and hot plates if needed. The gardens and... More
