My husband and I had stayed at Resort Martino about 7 years ago on our first trip to Costa Rica and had a pleasant stay; we decided to stay there again for a few days before travelling on to the Osa Peninsula on this (our 7th) visit. PROPERTY: Things have changed since our last visit; many of the large trees... More

Run, do not walk, to this incredible resort, and be sure to stop at orbitz on the way. I was in Costa Rica for business and pleasure and ended up staying at this property for two nights before I headed back to the States. I found an unbelievable deal on orbitz--around $100.00/night. A resort like this in the States would... More

Went there with my wife since it's close to the city and we were not dissapointed, friendly staff, good food. Some birds noises in the roof but later found out it was because they were nesting. The pool is very cool... very relaxing. Spa Sauna & turkish bath were really great and easy to reserve. Cons: Our room was not... More

This is a beautiful hotel with a rustic sort of "old rich" Scarface mansion feeling. The service is quite good, and the Italian restaurant there has ok food. The air conditioning didn't work especially well, but the rooms are spacious, have balconies overlooking the pool and the grounds are lovely and well kempt. There is a bird sanctuary right across... We needed a place to stay for one night before heading out to Uvita. This was a great little place for a one night stay. Great service, comfortable rooms with a sitting area outside, good price, and a nice free breakfast. If I had to stay for an overnight again near the San Jose airport, I would probably stay here... We had difficulty finding this hotel after making a wrong turn and ending up on the toll highway. Get the best map you can if you don't have GPS. After 3 hours and different confusing directions we finally found the landmark that was across from the road that led to the hotel and what a sight for sore eyes. With... More

My husband and I have stayed in this hotel three times in our last visits to Costa Rica. We love it because it is close to the airport but feels like it's miles away from everything, the peace and quiet is so refreshing. When we arrive in the country it is the best place to rest up before continuing with... More

I personally wouldn't pick this hotel for a long stay, but after traveling all over Costa Rica, we needed a nice place to rest our heads the night before our flight home and this was a fabulous choice. It is right across the street from the Costa Rica Zoo (something nice to do for a half day) and close to... More

We stayed for one night after arriving in Costa Rica. Upon arrival in our room, we found a large grouping of mice droppings in on corner. We tried to let it go, reminding oursleves that we were in a foreign country and we'd be okay for one night. As we went to bed that evening, we heard mice running rampant... More
