I attended a reunion at the Yellowhammer Inn. The facilities are in great shape and the staff, many of whom were new to the Inn, were extremely friendly and helpful. The setting is bucolic and inviting, with great scenery nearby. I recommend the Yellowhammer Inn highly.

We're so glad your enjoyed your stay as have many others. The visitors I've talked with since taking on the new role here, always have similar comments about the setting and how unique the yellow hammer is. As a result I've made sure our rates are very competitive for returning and new guests who want to visit and stay with... More

My husband and I attended a Tuscaloosa wedding in March and stayed at the Yellowhammer Inn. We loved the unusual setting of the Inn, a few miles out of downtown Tuscaloosa and in a lush area with slightly rolling hills, plush green grass, and trees everywhere. Especially inviting were the numerous large pieces of decorative outside art, primarily very life-like... More

If you're looking for a comfortable off the beaten path hotel with limited amenities in a quiet and scenic location, the Yellowhammer Inn is for you. Don't expect much more than that and you will be satisfied. If you're looking for a modern hotel with flat screen TV's and updated interiors the Yellowhammer Inn is not for you. For example,... More

My family and I recently attended an event at the University of Alabama where my son will be a freshman this coming fall. We have stayed in the area before as I grew up in Tuscaloosa during my adolescence and graduated from the university as well. On prior visits we booked accomodationsl near campus that were adequate but did not... More

I hosted a professional retreat at the North River Yacht Club and the 40+ attendees all stayed at the Yellowhammer Inn. I heard nothing but great things from all of the guests. The setting is beautiful, the hotel is unique, charming and interesting with great historical value, but updated and convenient. They provided a wonderful hospitality room for our guests... More

I just stayed at Yellowhammer for my first time, but it won't be the last. The scenery was beautiful, and the inn itself had a rustic but elegant lodge feel. The staff was friendly and helpful. This would be the perfect place for a romantic getaway weekend. The inn feels very private and secluded, but in addiion to the golf... More

Staff was great! Ensure you call ahead to stay when the fabulous Jack Watner collection of American art is open at the nearby Westervelt Headquarters. Walk the huge private gardens near the river. Consider playing golf and seeing the new Tuscaloosa transportation and history museum. We always like to go during a weekday to have time to appreciate everything.

I have finally had enough of staying at this property. I recently stayed here for a football weekend because nothing else was available in town. This property was supposedly updated a year or so back, but its still well below average grade of the normal Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites or average Marriott room. Speaking of Marriott, the staff here... More
