We stayed at the Microtel the weekend of UA's graduation. The hotel is a BUDGET hotel but they charged $130.00 a night because of graduation. Our room was a handicapped room (all they had available) on the 4th floor...why they would put a handicapped unit on the top floor is beyond me. We had 2 beds, one was new and...

I was part of a group that came from NJ to work with Habitat for Humanity. We came back to the hotel in the late afternoon tired and dirty. The water was always hot, the showers strong, and the beds comfortable. The next day, the rooms were always clean, with plenty of fresh towels. The staff, at whatever shift, was very...

I stayed at the Microtel for a week in April. It was very clean and the rooms comfortable. The breakfast is adequate but far from special. While management staff was responsive, the desk staff was rather weak.

Minuses: poor selection for breakfast, exiting the hotel forces you to go in the opposite direction of the University (you will need to end up making a...

Stayed here for the Alabama High School honor band festival. Front desk staff was extremely personable, the rooms were pristine, the breakfast was great, and the location was perfect. Had stayed previous two nights across the street at Home-Towne Suites, which is a dump comparatively, and the prices were the same. Would recommend this place highly. Oh, don't forget about...
