To find the hotel which is next to the Suzhou Creek: After my group tour of China, I stayed 2 extra nights in Shanghai and decided to go to a cheaper hotel as the one with the tour was expensive and faraway. I booked Lakeside Holiday Inn via Hotel Club so thought it should be reliable. So I checked out... More

We stayed in this hotel because of its distance from the underground and price and we got what we wanted. The hotel is situated facing the river and was difficult to find at first. Close by are some nice little shops and locals who cook on the street for you. It was a good base to see all that we... More

I just live here for first day. This time is winter season but hot water in hotel cannot be used. We tried to call to hotel reception but they said only "bye bye" . Some staffs came to observed what happen but they said something in Chinese (they know that we cannot understand) and cannot do anything for the shower.... More

We visited and stay in this hotel during the winter period. The hot water for showering in this hotel is sufficient for showering. The room is also well "isolated" from the coldness from the outside (but you have to wait for the air con to start up and the drawing of the curtain). The room is big enough for two... More

I stayed a week there, staff is rude. The main advantage is the price. Breakfast is chinese type, no coffee but there are cheap solutions outside nearby. Room was ok but not very comfortable. If I have to come back to Shanghai, I would try to find another hotel.

Under 10 minutes walk once you come out of Exit 6 of Nanjing Road E MRT station. Half hour walk to north end of the Bund. Great pastries and coffee from nearby Cafe 85 on way to MRT station. Plenty of cheap eat in Food court at 340 Nanjing Road E. Can do with some renovation and new carpets, receptionist... More

First of all this is not a Holiday Inn hotel but a cheap rip-off. In addition, many of the reviews here were made more than two years ago! I stayed for 7 nights in June 2011. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from East Nanjing Station in a rather run down part of town. It is situated by... More

We booked a family suite but was given a room without windows. The add-on bed was just a board bed with a thin layer of bed sheet as mattress. When we asked for a blanket, we were given the excuse that each room is limited to 1 set and there's nobody to man the reception should she leave to send... More

Within a few minutes' walk from MRT from Nanjing Road East. Able to walk to Nanjing Road and the Bung, and other attractions by MRT. Nice view of the Souzhou River and bridges if you have a river view room, otherwise the Pearl Tower lit up at night on the other side. Good internet access in rooms. Can do with... More
