Not a true 5 stars.. Old hotel, old furnitures, no design efforts. Need to progress to claim 5 stars, even 4... Rooms are comfortable still, and rather large at the Club floor. To get a taxi it took me almost 30 minutes and there is nothing around. If you have the choice, don't go..

Stayed in Holiday Inn in Shanghai initially and stayed here on my return. The quality of the rooms were not as impressive, although the facade raises your hopes. Staff are friendly, though, and good restaurants in close proximity. Hotel management needs to up their game to attarct and keep clients.

First impression, the corridor to my room had an interesting smell. Once entering my room I was not impressed by all the outdated amenities and decor. I quickly went to the air conditioning in hopes to circulate air in my room and only hot air came out of it. From there, I called the front desk, which didn't understand me... More

I have stayed numerous times at this hotel. And this time it is becoming evident that the hotel is in need of a makeover the bathroom is slightly moldy and taps were not working very well. Further the noise level in between the rooms is to high. Staff is nice enough but standard of food has declined tremendously as well... More

The hotel was actually nice enough, although not in a great location. In order to get the "happening" parts of the city, a cab or subway ride is necessary. The hotel is actually a part of the stadium, so if you're there for a sporting event in the stadium (I wasn't), that would definitely be a plus. I was very... More

I found two similarly named hotels in TripAdvisor, but can't determine if they are different. The hotel i'm reviewing is the one that is physically part of the Shanghai Stadium. I have stayed at this property numerous times, and I look forward to my next visit. The staff are very helpful and accepting of my (non-existant) Chinese skills. There's a... More

The hotel is nicely appointed with all that is expected of a 4 star hotel. Despite its "unusual" look, the location is extremely convenient, about 300 m from the Line 1 and Line 4 metro station. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, well spoken in both Mandarin and English. We lucked into an upgrade to the Executive floor. The room was... More

i chose this hotel because of a very good (US$ 50) "mystery hotel" deal on Wotif. As usual, I'd identified the hotel before booking. The location was convenient - it's in the Football Stadium, and it's close to the two Shanghai Stadium stops on Line 2 and Line 10 of the Metro. Line 10 is a great way to get... More

Pros - Free in room wifi - Room was nice - English speaking reception - Quick assistance on the phone - Breakfast was to standard Cons - Location was a bit far from city center - 5 mins outdoor path from the closest metro, a bit messy when it snows/rains - Thin walls, could hear clearly the noise next door... Whilst my room was quite dated compared to the photos on the hotel website it was spacious and comfortable. Staff welcoming and efficient. Decent breakfast catering for both Eastern and Western tastes. Plenty of good ex-pat haunts in walking distance. Good gym facilities for working off all those chinese dumplings !
