The Andaz is in a great location for getting around the city, very close to Xintiandi, and transport options. The rooms and hotel are just outstanding, boutique style hotel run by an excellent organisation...the room was very comfortable and of e highest quality. I can't help comparing to the Shanghai Hilton which is where I have stayed the last two... More

The room is a nice size. Very clean. Beautifully decorated with wood panelling - warm and comfortable. One length of the room is just a large window revealing a 180 degree view of the city which is absolutely wonderful! Large bathrooms with a large bath tub next to a window with a view of the city. Very good service. The... More

This was the first time I had stayed in a boutique styled type of hotel. I stayed in this hotel for two nights in April 2013 on a business trip. Andaz is the boutique entry from Hyatt. The most unique thing was the reception area - no longer a counter separating you and the front-desk people. Instead the reception area... More

Our arrival at the Andaz was a far less welcoming experience than the Immigration checkpoint we had just passed through at Shanghai International. No 'Welcome to the Andaz', no smile even. Just "Your passports please". Then, at mid afternoon we were advised our rooms were not ready for at least 30minutes after a 10 minute wait at the counter. No... More

I have stayed at all the Shanghai Hyatts during my years working in Asia and decided to give the Andaz a try during a recent business visit. I love the Andaz in London and this first Asian Andaz lives up to the worldwide brand reputation admirably. I am not all that keen on the hip Andaz check-in experience which focuses... More

Stayed two nights on business. Rooms are very modern and spacious (ok maybe not as big as in some of the other hotels at the Bund) with huge floor to ceiling windows. No difficulties finding sockets to plug in chargers, which sometimes can be a challenge. Bathrooms have Japanese style toilets, which I haven't seen anywhere else outside of Japan.... More

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights with my daughter, 30 Mar-02 Apr, had a very comfortable stay. Staff service is with a friendly smile and very courteous. Hotel is very modern and chic, as soon as we entered to check-in, friendly staff offered us coffee, tea, refreshments. Check in took few seconds and the staff accompanied us to... More

Stayed in this awesome hotel for my eat and sleep Easter long weekend. Wanna stay in hotel for extended sleeping and be able to get meals and drinks in walking distance without having to bump into the crowded subway. Room is spacious, hip and clean. With a big windows facing Xintiandi and the park, I decided to read on the... More

Conclusion: One of the best hotels in Shanghai (on a price-value perspective). Also location is unbeatable (unless you must must stay in the Bund area, which I think you should at least once, but after that, Xintiandi area is the best place to stay as a pleasure traveler) This stay: 2 nights. No upgrade. standard room in lower floor. Everything... More

It's great to stay at a hotel that is pushing the boundaries of hospitality. From the moment you arrive, there are some great touches. Reception is not a desk, but a central console, where you feel very much at one with the process. They have a snack table there, which changes throughout the day and offers everything from sweets, to... More
