This inn has flair. Rather than having rooms located down hallways, this Inn is a maze of staircases that surround a gorgeous courtyard. (There is an elevator so don't worry about carrying your bags.) It's difficult to describe, but those outdoor stairways give the hotel a unique charm. Our room was filled with antiques, featured a king-size, four-post bed, and... More

Wonderful owners! Great location! We took a long walk around the neighborhood to see some of the old homes beautifully renovated. Then a short walk to downtown for happy hour at Wentzells...not to be missed. Huge room! Traveling with a girl friend. Got TWO QUEEN beds. Unusual to even find in small historic inn!. And a swimming pool. Come on... More

Stayed 3 nights, room was very clean, courtyard was beautiful, staff was very friendly, courteous, top notch. We're usually apprehensive with historic hotels, however, this far surpassed our expectations, recommend historic rooms, will definitely go back!

This is a great spot. A real hotel, built in 1860 with 16 foot high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, and a big four poster bed, second floor porch with wrought iron railing opening out to live oaks. very charming and restful. Ed W.

We began a bicycle tour at Malaga Inn - our goal was to ride from Mobile, AL to Niagara Falls, ON in 41 days. A group of 7, we flew in from different points around the country and converged on the Malaga Inn. The staff there took care of us, giving us space to have a group meeting, a secure... More

We checked out this morning and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Malaga Inn. The staff was nice and very helpful, recommending restaurants and offering help at every turn. The rooms are beautiful and charming. The bathrooms are small but clean and nicely appointed. We stayed with our two children ages 1 and 3 and my oldest kept calling it our... More

Be sure to ask if any large parties have booked the hotel. We were the only couple at a weekend wedding party destination. The noise from the courtyard prevented a good night's rest the two nights we stayed.. The breakfast was minimal, and although we were there early only bagels, yogurt and mini-muffins were left. The restaurant has closed. The... More

We stayed at the Malaga because I wanted the unique experience of the New Orleans-style hotel. It was very clean, the staff were all friendly and helpful, I loved the balcony and being able to open the door on a beautiful day and the picture-perfect courtyard. However, the bed was not comfortable, the showerhead left much to be desired, the... More

Dear D Carver Thank you for your honesty in your review. This was the first time anyone has mentioned anything about the street light being loud. We will do what we can to correct this. We are open to any suggestions you may have. A noise machine in the room, perhaps? We are in the process of getting new mattresses... More

We had a really enjoyable stay in the Malaga Inn. If you are looking for a high end luxury sort of experience, this is probably not for you. It did have bags of authentic charm, a stunning central courtyard, a great location walking distance from downtown and was a welcome change from the identikit chain hotels elsewhere. This hotel is... Rachel B I am glad you described your experience of reading while sitting by the fountain. That is why many of our guests come and come again- relaxation. Another trip advisor reviewer wrote "an oasis of calm" to describe our inn. I am so glad your experience with us was a positive one and we are always trying to improve.... More

We stayed at the Malaga for Mobile's South Sounds Music Festival. We were treated so well and loved our stay. It was such a unique, comforting, and peaceful stay. And the location was perfectly close to everywhere we wanted and needed to be all weekend. I can't imagine staying anywhere else now when we come to town!

Thank you so much for writing such a nice review. South Sounds and Arts Alive are both really great festivals for Mobile and we love taking part in all of Mobile's cultural events. We had quite a few of the bands and artists stay with us that weekend and were happy to accommodate everyone. We will see you again for... More
