This is a restaurant review; I rated the rooms 'average', since I think it's a required field. We live pretty close to the Park, & drive up when we have house guests. Popcorn shrimp was very good--tasted like fresh Gulf shrimp, but I forgot to ask. The burger was great, you have to ask for toasted bun. The salad bar... More

We got an overall sense of inhospitality. For instance, a sign over the restaurant buffet read something like, "Management reserves the right to assess additional charges." We assumed that warning was directed at people who eat too much. Other negative signs seemed to be everywhere: this is prohibited, that is banned, extra charges apply if you move the furniture, etc.... More

For the $$ this place is really great. Certainly not the most fancy , but very clean and comfortable. Awesome view from the hotel window. Wonderful & helpful staff. The restaurant is great & reasonable prices. Nearby hiking is excellent not to mention the mountain bike trails. This place is run by the State of Alabama, but don't let that... More

We stayed here one night at Thanksgiving in the hotel. I had stayed here before years ago as a kid. The hotel is a bit dated but clean and the view from the parking lot and the restaurant is beautiful. We stayed in a king room. It was roomy and comfortable. The only problem was when we checked in. I... More

Cheaha has been a family favorite for years. We've stayed at the hotel, chalets, and, most recently, the cabins. The hotel rooms are fine. Nothing fancy but a good value. The chalets are roomy. Again, nothing fancy but they have all the basics. We loved the cabins! Very cozy, nicely updated. Could use some better covers for the beds but... More

It is a slow 14 mile drive off I-20 as you ascend to the park, which is situated atop the highest mountain in Alabama. Free wifi that according to the campground host is difficult to connect to when raining or windy. It was neither the day we were there, but there was still no wifi. All sites are gravel and... More

We arrived at the park just before sunset. It is an awesome view. Rooms are average at best. You definitely pay for the view which is worth it. Be sure to drive around in the park area. The tower which is the tallest point in Alabama is worth a trip to see. Several other areas worth driving to. Suggest you... More

We have been coming to Cheaha state park since I was small. We have typically stayed in their Chalets. They are 2 bedrooms and 1 bath with a living room/dining room and very small kitchen. The location is very beautiful, but be prepared to re clean everything before you stay there. We prefer to bring our own bedding, although it... More
