Firstly I liked very much the charm of the Pousada do Amparao. Very agreable location, charming old house, professional reception by Diego. But, but, but, afterwards how disapointing !!!!!! To go to the bathromm, you have to climb down a 10 meters dangerous staircase. The electric shower cant give you warm water, there is no hair dryer, the toilet bowl... More

Nice decor etc. Rooms are basic especially the much cheaper rooms on the left of the reception area (an add on), where bathrooms are shared. They did not provide any soap for the bathroom (said too many guests take off with the soap). Disappointed. The more expensive rooms were slightly better. Generally found that if you waled in without reservation,... More

Location is great and gives the feel of a historic building. Rooms are a bit small but clean and comfortable. Service is great. Garden area and pool are okay but full of mosquitos. But this par for the course in most places with gardens. Definitely find a place in this general vicinity

Last month I had the big pleasure to stay at this hotel, such an amazing stay! Me and my wife stayed in a room called "Flor da Lira" which gives access to their new "partner" BEIJUPARA. Even I prefered the food at the restaurant in the main building called "Flor da Coca"... Their service is amazing, the food is incredible!!... More

I slept only one night in Olinda, on a trip in Brasil, and I did love the Pousada do Amparo for its bohemian style, the rich over-decoration, the exquisite breakfast and warm welcome of the excellent staff. Only problem: the noise of a very popular street, but I knew it before booking. The value of the position is that restaurants... More

Pre carnival and organized chaos in the streets as I arrive at the most charming and hospitable home away from home for the next few days. The location is fantastic amidst the celebrations, colourfully painted houses, cobbled streets, galleries and more. A charming back room with balcony and lovely view, and en-suite clean bathroom. The restaurant was delicious perfection both... More

We stayed me and my wife for 4 nights. We find the pousada general speaking good but very desapointed with the restaurant, which has a french oriented menu with a very old cuisine like "Magret de canard ao poivre vert" and similar plates that has nothing to do with Brazil and even less with Pernanbuco !The jacuzi to warm up it... Stayed there 2 nights in the room "ribeira" wich is supposed to bu "luxo"! What a mistake! Even if the location is really good and the interior of the pousada is lovely, the room was awfull. Small bed, almost no wardrobe, small and disgusting bathroom. And overall extremely dirty! Noisy air-conditionning, have to use earplugs to sleep. At least the... More
