I visited this hotel for 1 night as I was on a business tour. Average hotel, with small dimly lit rooms. The property is outdated, but location is very good. I had taken lunch it its restaurant which was again average. Services were decent. I was forced to stay in this hotel as the location suited me, and other hotels... More

we had a spacious room that was clean, but the decor definitely made it feel like we were stuck in the 80s. BIG PLUS: continuous hot water and a western-style shower (i.e., a glass door separated the shower from the rest of the bathroom). for comparison purposes for future travelers: a decent stay relative to other hotels, but this would... I had last visited Astor in March 2011, and had a very pleasant experience However, on this trip, the hotel was a complete disappointment. The rooms were alright in size, but the beds were not very comfortable. Additionally I had to kill a couple of cockroaches in the night, not a pleasant task at any time and especially nauseating just... More

What can I say but it's just a rip off. The rooms were EXTREMELY dirty and smelly. Layer of dirt every where. The linen were also ancient. Think of skin disease before planning to stay there. I would have bolted the minute I got in but unfortunately had to stay the night as it was really too late to move.... More

...but that's not possible unfortunately. They would deserve it... It smelled already in the so called "lobby". Room smelled also. It was a "superior" which I got for 90 EUR. Such a rip-off. There was no window in the room! They gave me a room with a window then but this was smelly, too. It was a real bad experience!

My first stay at the astor, Kolkata . As you get in the lobby, wait..there is no lobby. Just a small reception area in the stairwell. It is a very old building, high floors, with a nice polished staircase. You will get to see a lot of this staircase since there are no elevators. And if your room is on... More

I stayed in Astor on a business trip to Kolkata where I was upgraded to Suite room. The location is excellent, right in the heart of business district. The restaurant was quite popular and food served was good. It is famous for its Kebabs. Suite room was large in size and even bed was quite large. It is a heritage... More

Astor is one of the best places to stay in Kolkata, if your work warrants you so. Even if you are on a holiday, the hotel is located conveniently. Strategically located off Chowringhee, the hotel is the most convenient one for business & leisure travelers alike. The rooms are reasonable large, small bathrooms and an old Color television with no... More

The hotel has got old charm but has modern amenities. Food is good. You won't find moisturizer in the room though. The TV also needs to be upgraded. Bed is comfortable but could be better. Room service is little slow. Room amenities are good and you will newspaper and magazines.
