Booked this hotel to for a group of my relatives and a friend who were in Kolkata during end-of-Feb'12. I got an all round remark from my family who stayed at this place that it was quite nice. The proximity to major areas like New Market is a delight ! Price was very reasonable. The staff want too friendly to... More

I stayed at the Bawa Walson for 1 night and trust me it is one of the best hotels in & around Park Street. I like to read reviews of hotels before planning to stay. What i read online about was that it was under renovation and some reviews were not too good. I crossed my fingers and booked it... More

I stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights during a business trip. It's a nice hotel located about 5 minutes walk from Park Street. The room was good. It had all the necessary amenities including good AC, tea maker, good lighting etc. The room was clean. The bathroom was also good with an excellent shower. Yes, the room... More

After an awful night across the road at the Hotel Diplomat, I moved in here. The room on the 3rd floor was nicely furnished, and was clean and comfortable. The wifi signal was strong, so I assume there are boosters on every floor. I had negotiated a good rate when I checked in, so breakfast wasn't included. I did eat... More

I was dumped in this hotel by our travel desk as most other hotels like HHI,Park etc were full on that day! Rooms are small but ok. Staff speaks ok English. But the food is unnecessarily expansive as per local standard. Get in only if you don't have any other option. Not recommended for families. Breakfast is extremely poor. You... More

This hotel is a nightmare, central Ac is very noisy, impossible to sleep, bad smelling in room, and not possible to open a window, so not fresh air. The room was dirty, the bathroom was dirty, the bedsuit was dirty, when we ask for change they have to bring new bedsuit for 5 times till they find a clean one,... More

I stayed there in June of 2011. We stayed the first few nights of our time in Kolkata at a much cheaper hotel on Sudder Street. But our last night in Kolkata we treated ourselves to a night at Bawa Walson and were so glad we did. Our room was super clean, the shower was fantastic (I took 3 showers... More

Stayed at the bawa walson for 2 days. The hotel is under renovation so the lift was non functional which was the only annoying part. The rooms are small but cosy. The best part about the hotel is its open air restaurant. It has a great crowd . The only annoying part is the approach to the hotel. Though it... More

I stayed here in Jan 2011 with my family. It was the best hotel we stayed in out of all the places we visited in India. The location is great right in good old Sudder Street. The hotel staff are so lovely and helped us when my sister became ill, by letting us stay another unplanned night and calling doctors.... More
