My husband and I stayed at the Bissau Palace in February, 2013, and had the most wonderful time! One evening at dinner we ordered ice cream and were told you did not have it and yet someone went to the store and bought some ice cream so we would have some. The brothers playing music just outside the dining room... More

The lower floors of this city residence are the hotel and it is a good place to stay. Granted the rooms need to be updated in terms of some amenities, but it is still a comfortable enough.. Our room was huge and full of genuine period furniture and other fittings, but I weigh 100 kg so the mattress needed to... More

First impressions are fantastic - the public areas are beautifully maintained. The hand painted lobby, library and restaurant are very atmospheric and packed with historical artefacts. It was a bit like stepping into a museum! Food was excellent, but service a bit slow. The rooms are all uniquely decorated - ours was pink, with huge comfy single beds. However some... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and were given a room near the pool. The hotel itself is a beautiful old building, stunningly decorated with fantastic photos and old style glamour furnishings. Some areas are in need of some love and attention, and while we were there a gentleman was hand painting gold patterns on the pillars in the foyer.... More

Having read some of the mixed reviews of this property, I was prepared to be underwhelmed. However, it was the first hotel we stayed at during our India trip and looking back, it was a favourite. The owner and his staff do their utmost best to make your stay a pleasant one. Our room was quirky and some of the... More

This hotel was a former palace. It is down a gated driveway that is steps from the manic Jaipur streets. The loby area is open and breezy, nice in the morning and evening. You had better like antiques and animal heads, because they are everywhere. The rooms are all different, mine was out back with a pad lock on the... More

It's like walking into a museum, the rooms are large airy and very quirky, u lock the bedroom door with a padlock, waiters look grumpy but are very helpful, and they make the best tomato sandwiches, unfortunately the pool wasn't in use for our visit which was a pain because it was so hot, would definitely use this hotel again

I can fully recommend this hotel which used to be an old palace. Lovely murals of elephants and camels on outside walls. Inside it is like stepping back into the past with library, lounge and dining rooms creating an atmosphere of bygone times. It feels like an oasis when you come in from the noisy and busy street. I liked... More

The Palace must once have been a magnificent home and the intact living areas showcase the memorabilia of those long lost times. The rooms are OK, large and funky but the whole place is now a bit shabby and sad. At the time I stayed in March when it was getting hot the promised swimming pool was still being renovated.... More

Loved this hotel. Certainly unique and I would stay again if I was to visit another time. Every room is different and our room was amazing. Lovely large room with a 4 poster bed. Big bathroom but sadly always had a cold shower! The staff were all great and very attentive. Breakfast was basic but dinner was tasty.
