Well this is a late post.We stayed in April 2012. The most uncomfortable place of stay till date amongst so many places we have stayed.. We had planned for 2 days but due to the inconvenient stay we shortened our trip by 1 day. The room was extremely hot with so many mosquitoes. The curtains were very light cloured and not... More

The host family at this homestay is very friendly and helpful. They helped us to arrange a trip around Mysore and the surrounding attractions and gave advice about places to visit as well as a very good local restaurant. We got to stay on the second floor which could be accessed by a staircase outside the house. The accomodation consisted... More

If you look at the photo on this Tripadvisor page you will see the suite we stayed in, up amongst the trees on a very quiet street. That large, glass-enclosed porch/bedroom - where you will be tempted to lounge about with a cup of tea and a good book in spite of all Mysore has to offer - is attached... More

We spent a lovely few days with Ganga & her family in Mysore. The room was self-contained with a nice seating area & ensuite bathroom and as it wasn't in the town centre was quiet - although regular buses to town were so easy. The highlight was the family though - Ganga was so helpful & even sorted our next... More

When I arrived I was really exhausted, and the calm residential neighborhood itself and the house in midst of so much green helped me feel better immediately. The family was really sweet and open and we had some nice conversations. Breakfast was wonderful and both Ganga and Carri gave me some very useful tips to see more and other places... More

Shanthi Niwas is about 7 minutes by tuk-tuk from the main bus stand in a residential area with one good restaurant in walking distance. The place is attached to the family home but separate, upstairs with one living room/extra bedroom and a one bedroom separate with attached bath. Ganga takes every care to make your stay a good one. She... More

We are travelling for six months. After our five days stay at busy Bangalore, we wanted to have a simple accommodation booked at Mysore. Ganga, Cary and their children were so friendly. Upon arrival we got tea, and there was a good connection between us. We had nice talks! They gave us a welcome feeling, useful tips about travel, nearby... More

I stayed at Shanthi Niwas in Mysore for three nights. I really enjoyed my stay there! Having just one room for guests, Ganga and her husband really take great care of their guests. They even picked my up from the train station in the middle of the night, offered me tea and then let me sleep for a few more... More

I came to Shanti Niwas last minute after being unable to find any decent hotels in my budget in Mysore, and I am so glad I did. Right from the very beginning Ganga and her family were warm and welcoming, and genuinely interested in making sure that I had everything I needed. There was a general strike in Mysore on... More

I have been travelling Asia for 14mths and this was the most enjoyable accomodation experience I have had. Ganga, Cary and their 2 children were extremely welcoming, friendly, helpful and generous. The "suite"[sitting, bedroom and bathroom] is not 5 star for amenities but it is 5 star for value, breakfast, relaxation peacefulness, friendliness and location. Thank you Cariatta family
