considering where it is, right next to the lake. and what it is, a 200 year old wood and stone house with loads of character. We didn't pre-book this place but most people seem to (huh?!) and we were offered a really good room when we turned up, for Rs2,000 with a new and stylish bathroom (the shared Broom rooms... More

Great old colonial hotel in excellent location , next to Temple Of the Tooth. Has a wonderful wooden veranda to while away the evening on. Rooms are basic but ok and the mosquito net actually fitted the bed ....a rare find in the hotels we stayed in in Sri Lanka. Has a restaurant on ground floor but we did not... More

Located in the centre of Kandy, just next to the temple of Tooth. The balcony has a beautiful seating area with lots of colonial charm. The rooms are basic but clean and the restaurant serves decent food. The balcony needs to receive another mention from where you can see the Kandy lake and lots of beautiful flower vendors on the... A great value for money option in the heart of Kandy. Perfectly close to the Temple of the Tooth. After a not too friendly reception we were shown our potential room which we gladly accepted for a more than appropriate rate, considering the attached bathroom (cold water only!), the dark wood furniture and impressive high ceilings. One of the highlights... More

Warning - if you are anti-noise this IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU What seems delightful at 6pm does not feel so charming at 5am the next day. Especially on loudspeaker and it runs for approximately 30 minutes so you can't go back to sleep. But this place is quaint with a great balcony and so close to the temple.... More

Well, I don't know how to start. This is the most charming place I have been in my whole trip to Sri Lanka. The building is great, balcony is awesome with old colonial furniture and overlooking the Sacred Tooth Relic Temple entrance, flowers stalls for the offers and lake views. Balcony was entirely for us and at night it was... More

The building and rooms look very nice, although no hot water and no wifi. The most expensive room was Rs. 2200. It's 5 minutes walk from the tooth relic temple. The food in the restaurant is very nice and reasonable priced. The balkony is lovely and very nice. More

Very nice, stayed for 2 nights when in Kandy. Cheap and tidy, always someone cleaning. We were there May, and payed 900 rupees (9 dollars) for a doubleroom with queensize bed with fan and mosquitonet and big window. It had kind of a monestary-feeling to it, very cool. Joined bathroom's, stinked, but nice shower. Beautiful common-area : balcony with a... More

Stay at this hotel in early April for just one night. The price lists at their website is 20 USD with private toilet. We did not make the reservation and walked in, they gave us the room rate for 2190 rupees. Seems the same price. The location is perfect just opposite to the famous Temple of Tooth. room is large,...
