I have been traveling in sri lanka for 5 months. We visited Kandy for the first time. I booked our room for 2 nights and ended up staying 3 days extra. Our room was a room on the 1st floor overlooking the garden. The rooms had a wardrobe which i saw for the first time in a budget guesthouse as this.(nice to have... We booked this place through another guesthouse in Ella. Should have known better. Supposed to be a 10 minute walk to Kandy town...it is at least 20-30 mins down and a steep walk up. Rooms are small and dark. We were told we had to move from our room because someone wanted a balcony room - the room is so... More

We spent 3 nights at St Bridget's at the end of our 3 week trip. It was a good base to explore Kandy from, away from the hub bub of the city. The owners were very helpful with info and tips about various sites in Kandy which we really appreciated. The free pick up from the railway station was prompt... More

The guest house is in a quiet area within walking distance to the city. The room was very nice, but the bathroom with a toilet was not very clean. If the bathroom is more correct, it would be almost ideal accommodation for the price. The owner prepare a very good traditional Sri Lankan cuisine. There is a terrace suitable for... More

The owner collected us from the station as we'd requested . St Bridget's is just the right distance from town . It's a very nice walk and quick in a tuk tuk . Contrary to all the horror stories I'd heard about the tuk tuk drivers of Kandy they always seemed a nice bunch of blokes , happy to do... More

St Bridget's made for the perfect first few nights stay in Sri Lanka. The food was so tasty and comforting after the airplane food and 15 hour journey. The rooms were clean and simple and very good value. Mrs Pipi and her family were very welcoming and helped us arrange our stay there so we could make the most of... More

On my recent visit to Kandy in September 2011, I stayed at the Bridget's Guest House in Kandy. My stay here was for two nights and I was pleased with my decision as this place is located away from the congested Kandy city. It is surrounded by trees, plants and flowers around that was very relaxing. The owners Pippi and... More

After a long but fascinating train journey from Ella, Pipi's husband collected us, as arranged, from the station at Peradeniya Junction which was a really helpful (and free) service. We enjoyed our 3 nights stay at St Bridget's. The room was quite small (though with our young daughter, there were 3 of us in it) but the communal seating areas... More

We have got the tip of that guesthouse from friends. They loved that place and so we booked it directly from Germany and had to pay in advance by Western Union. Because of the Perahera festival the price was more than double than normal. All other hotels raised their prices so was normal and also very difficult to get a... More

We headed to Pippi's guesthouse after a few days travelling through the Cultural Triangle and found St Bridget's to be our home away from home. Our rooms were modest but clean and comfortable. The price was reasonable but the breakfast hit the spot - fresh hot toast and a pot of tea. The staff were friendly and went out of... More
