We ended up here after leaving an other shabby dirty guesthouse. Although the price was higher than other places we stayed everything was great. Nice clean rooms, friendly staff, good food and a nice pool.

If you want to stay in the best place in Dambulla then I guess that this is it. The reception area was a bit dark and gloomy and so was the ground floor corridor but the receptionist was friendly and efficient and almost all the rest of the staff were too. The room was fine and so was the attached...

The hotel is clean and well appointed. Rooms are air-conditioned and of a decent size, without being large.
Staff are friendly and courteous and willing to make efforts to make you comfortable.
The restaurant is very attractive, being open to the outdoor swimming pool (unfortunately in need of cleaning), well laid out and furnished.
The service, however, was slow and...

The Gimanhala Transit Hotel is a very good hotel to explore the major spots in the cultural triangle if you want to stay in one location.
You can easily access Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa or Sigiriya as a bus station (not the central station) is in front of the hotel.
The hotel itself has the following advantages:

Located in the heart of the town, the place...

- location : by the road, that's the only concern regarding this hotel. It is not really noisy, but there is a background sound of cars.
- breakfast and dinner : good
- staff : nice

The hotel is well located on the main road with easy access to buses going to all cultural places. Grocery and other stores are easy walking distance. The staff were very courteous. The room was nice - with AC and TV. The breakfast was good. Otherwise food was a little pricey and service slow. There is a nice takeaway too...

This is a place on the highway. With Sri Lanka Celebrating 2600 years of Buddhism, it was a tiresome night with the traffic and honking the whole night outside your room. The hotel otherwise is a good value for money option and fits the mid-range family travelers. The pool used to have good views, but some boulders have been permanently...
