We arrived at night and it was dark, what a nice surprise to see the giant dunes opening the curtains in the morning. Breakfasts are great with eggs, jam and delicious bread. The pool is fantastic in that desert area. The hotel is spotted near a small romantic lake. You can climb the dunes and have a fantastic view of... More

Huacachina is literally an oasis in the middle of the desert and was one of the best finds on our trip to Peru. This hotel is located at the end of the road, nestled right up against a sand dune so it is one of the quietest spots in the tiny town. The hotel is quite average. The room was... More

Huacachina seems to be a backpacker-heavy area, so the accommodations in this area are pretty run-of-the-mill and aren't supposed to be fancy. We only stayed 1 night at the Hosteria Suiza and it was a fine place to stay for one night. Our room was clean and very spacious. My only complaint was that the shower didn't work well, since... The Huacachina area seems very much geared towards backpackers so the hotels and restaurants are all pretty low-end. This place was well located and clean. It also has a nice pool. The room was clean but the shower didn't work properly and the toilet kept running. There is no deadbolt and no safe. Electrical outlets are not easy to access... More

VALUE: A friend of mine and I stayed here 1 night and loved it. Booked the standard twin room through Pacarama for $50. This was definitely cheaper than the other hotels in Huacachina we found. ROOMS: Our room was spacious and was tastefully decorated and the bathroom was more than adequate. Only con -- the gaps in the bathroom windows... More

staff is moody. multi day stay discounts are not given. hotel did not answer my email prior to arrival, eventhough the hotel is basically empty (you would expect them to want us to stay..) wifi did not work for a full day. (after having to ask more than once for the problem to be fixed) it finally did afterwards it... More

Included American breakfast and pool make this a good value in Huacachina. Free WiFi is available but not in rooms. Staff didn't speak much English and were not particulary attentive. More

This is a hidden gem at the end of the road in Huacachina, especially if you speak Spanish and are prepared to pay for the more expensive pool-side rooms at the back. Front rooms are a bit old - though clean enough (but beware of wind and open doors - we are practically on a sand dune here, after all).... More

How you feel about this hotel depends on what type of room you get. The rooms vary in quality, location and size. We stayed three nights. We had two different rooms. The night desk attendant was not particularly pleasant. We were shown another room initially - the only room they said they had left - but we refused. It was... More

Likes: -Lobby and pool area are very nice. -Located on a quiet street with no cars. This is very important because the taxi drivers honk at anything that moves, no joke. -The view of the dunes and oasis out the window was nice, though a little obscured by trees. Dislikes: -They turn the hot water off sometime before 8pm so... More
