After finishing the Inca Trail, we were looking for a nice, hot shower. Unfortunately, Rupa Wasi didn't provide one. The water goes from scalding hot to ice cold in seconds. In order to get the hot water to return, you have to get out of the shower and try running the faucet wide open on hot. However, sometimes this didn't... More

I stayed at this hotel one year ago, damp, smelly room and was moved to another room while at MP by staff without my consent. I also was scammed on my tickets and the police were actually involved. They told me at that time that they were firing a hotel manager over complaints from other travellers similar to mine but... More

After a rough Machu Picchu hike the stairs were tough to climb but this place makes you feel like you are in a jungle lodge, not a hotel in AC! I would definitely recommend this place! Didn't have a chance to eat here but menu looked awesome.

We stayed here for one night and had a pleasant stay. We had Unit #5, which had a single bed downstairs with the bathroom and a double bed on the second floor. It has windows all around the second floor with good views of the mountains, but not so good views of some of the surrounding buildings. The room was... More

I was moved with the Trip Advisors photos: they looked great! Well... I must say that what I saw was totally the opposite!! My view was just a rock in front of my window, the roof was no higher than 2,4 meters and the bath... well.. the bath... averall It was just OK for 1 night before. thats all. dont... More

Staff met us at the train station which was super helpful. About a 7 minute walk to the hotel stairs. Walk through a cute local market selling touristy items. Lots of restaurants in the area. Quite a few stairs to get to the hotel which was not fun, but it's a bit of a warm up for what's to come... More

We had a night here before heading up to Machu Picchu. It's a pretty basic set of cabin styled rooms up on the north end of town (still less than a 10minute walk for the train station). Be prepared for quite a few steps leading up to the lodge - practice for Machu Picchu maybe? The rooms aren't particularly air... More

Great little place with fantastic views views the huge cheer cliff/mountain across the way. This hotel is sort of built into the hillside so it has that "tree house" feel. All made with beautiful local wood. We were a family of four that stayed in one room (suite?) with two beds down stairs and two upstairs (narrow and sort of... More

Staying at the Rupa Wasi is a real treat, and definitely something to include in your experience of Machu Picchu if you can afford it. It was like staying in a tree house, very fun and novel, and very comfortable as well. The hotel restaurant, actually called The Tree House, is fabulous and also worth the price. The suite we... We had mixed feelings on our two night stay at Rupa Wasi. The pros: cute, unique hotel experience with a nice little garden patio outside of room 5. After long days of hiking, it's wonderful to have the Treehouse restaurant available right on the property for a good meal and most important, a great glass of wine. The front desk... More
