Stayed in a double room next to the dive shop for 70 ringgit. Unfortunately there is a band that plays until 3 in the morning every night so you will not get any sleep. Alright if you are a groupie in the band and need a short crawl home. Other than that, look for somewhere else. More

bad value (paid 120 MYR for double room with AC), access from beach is via a bridge crossing a smelly pool of garbage and sewage. Bathroom/Toilet in bad and dirty condition, bad service. ok, on the perhentians in general standards are lower but there are a couple of other places where you get more while paying less. More

I dived with Matahari (which is one of the best dive shops in the island), and the accomodation was ok for that. The rooms and bathrooms are basic, but good and clean. If you're planning on diving, this is the spot (as long as Dee and Warda are still there!) More

I feel like I could review all the places on Perhentian Kecil because we literally looked around them all. We started off at Coral Bay and ended up staying here on Long beach - stay on Long beach; everyone we met who were staying on coral bay were doing the jungle walk every day to sunbathe on the better beach... I've been traveling for a number of decades and I would have to say that this is the worst place I've ever stayed in. There certainly is sewage smell en route to the bungalow but I can withstand that because that's only for a couple of minutes. But the sewage smell in your room the entire day and night was... More

Stayed here for 5 nights. Had booked a package in advance, but was told upon arrival only room available were A/C-room and we had to pay extra for this. On top of all, this room was the most disgusting room (unclean) we have stayed in so far (been travelling for 2 months). In general, one person at the reception were... More

I got to the small island and treked up and down the beach looking for the best dive and stay package and these guys had it. The room was very good standard for the price and all the dive instructors we super cool. It was great for a solo traveller like myself as everyone just comes and hangs out at... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights and it was awful. The staff here were exceptionally rude, especially the guy who manned the reception area. He refused to allow us to pay for our rooms in advance, therefore requiring us to make daily payments to secure our rooms for each ensuing night. It also appears he accepts/rejects bookings based... We arrived at the Perhentians with nowhere to stay as most of the budget places don't accept bookings, just walk-ins. We had a look around and found that the majority of places were the same price but Matahari looked the nicest out of our choices for that night. (You do have to walk over the sewage smelling bridge where the... More

Location: This place is located in the centre of Long Beach, so a perfect location. We had restaurants and small shops (for drinks and snacks) just a minutes walk from our door. Couldn't really be any better. Rooms: They offer rooms, chalets and bungalows as far as I remember, and we had a bungalow. Very basic, but just how we... More
