Sometimes to get a premium location without paying top dollar you need to make a few compromises. The Manso hotel is right on the Malecon 2000 overlooking the river. A room at the front looks right over everything. A $5 taxi will get you to the airport and you can walk easily to las Penas (very nice) and there are... More

Loved our stay at the Manso and would definitely stay there again. The decor is very eclectic and adorable. The rooms are spacious and clean. The location right across the street from the waterfront could not have been better. The front desk staff were great and spoke English. The breakfast was pretty good. Lots to see and do right around... More

I stayed here with my sisters on two occasions before and after visiting the Galapagos Islands. It was very clean and cosy. The rooms are good quality for your money and is in a really great location right on the river front. It is within walking distance to shops, the boardwalk, restaurants and tourist sites. The staff were nice and... More

I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights in the Flor de Loto room. The hotel is in a great location along the Malecon amongst a wide variety of shops and cafes. The hotel restaurant has extremely slow service and the wifi network does not work in all rooms/areas of the hotel. Overall, a good spot to stay and most... More

If your are planning on visiting Guayaquil on a low budget, I completeley recommend this hostal. The location is excellent, pretty close to most touristic destintations. The staff is very nice and will gladly help you with information, security tips and local tours. On my next visit to Guayaquil, I will definitively will come back to this hostal. The only... More

I stayed at this hostel twice during my two month tour around Ecuador and couldn't have been happier. Although I stayed in their four-bed female dorm, they also have private rooms. My dorm room was immaculate and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. The wifi worked in the room but they were more than happy to have me lounge around the... More

Hi, I was on my own in Guayaquil in October 2010 (I couldn't selecct the real date in the filter) and it was an amazing place. I stayed there on my way to Galapagos for one night and then 2 more nights after my time in Galapagos... The first time I stayed in a single room and the decoration was... More

I was impressed with the hostel and its staff. However, as a solo traveler I was disappointed to see that they didn't have lockers in the 4-person guys' dormitory. Interesting decor, and AC in the rooms, and great location as other people have mentioned. I'd go back.

We stayed at Madrid Hotel Suite on the way to the Galapagos. Very nice folks but the bed was super hard and the neighborhood not great. So we tried Manso Boutique Hotel for the night on the way back. Great location on the Malecon. The Mandarin Room was very attractive and comfortable, thought the light from the hallway shined in... More

Dear Guest: I have no explanation for the problems at the cafeteria, except thanks for letting us know. We get a lot of positive comments on our menu, so it is stimulating to get also negative ones. Sorry for the bad experience!! Regarding the no-wake up call and the reception person sleeping, that we solved. Sometimes it is hard to... More

Across from the Malecon 2000, how can you go wrong with that location? Manso is a converted old building which has maintained its airy feel with high ceilings and wide open spaces. Considering how warm Guayaquil can be, the very breezy feel of Manso makes it an inviting and decadent-seeming space. I had the good fortune of staying in the... More
